Ww were looking for somewhere to eat lunch the morning after attending a wedding. Happened to chose this restaurant and could not be happier with the choice. The broccoli rabe and sausage appetizer was first rate, the sausage had a deep brown sear and the broccoli rabe was cooked perfectly. The Parmesan crusted Chicken Caesar salad was recommended by the staff member and it was better than he said it would be. The golden brown layer of parm on the chicken was amazing. The Rigatoni Bolognese was perfect. The sauce had a great balance to it. And, as good as the food was, the service matched it. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The chef was out on the floor often ensuring everyone was enjoying their meals. This is one of those places where you can tell everyone that works there takes great pride in their work. Parsippany is fortunate to have a place like this. Looking forward to being able to visit it again the next time I’m in the area!

From dinners to baby showers, gourmet cafe has you covered in all aspects and the service and hospitality is always second to none. Chef Matt and his employees treat you like family and the food is always unbelievable! Do yourself a favor and call ahead to make reservations since it’s almost impossible to get seated as a walk in but there’s a reason the food and atmosphere is always amazing! Thanks for everything Matt and staff and see you guys again soon!

I have been coming to this establishment since its doors opened and highly recommend it! You will not be disappointed. It’s One of my all time favorite NJ Italian restaurants, and BYOB. The food and service are always consistently outstanding! The staff, and owner/chef Matt is so accommodating, and kind when I bring my almost 92 year old Mom with. Tonight, she ordered her favorite item on their menu, Lobster Ravioli topped with fresh shrimp, and a mouth watering vodka sauce. We also had the chilled crabmeat chicken-peas salad that is one of my favs. it’s so refreshing and plentiful, with a Pignoli Encrusted Sea Scallops appetizer, and a side of capellini carbonara. We ended with the warm homemade apple crisp….so good!

A great neighborhood spot for a fantastic dinner. I had the pistachio crusted salmon and my husband had the beef and shrimp ravioli special. The desserts are delicious and perfect for sharing. I’ve always had great meals here and the servers are attentive and friendly.

Omg this place is the absolute best u can not go wrong from food to service to the atmosphere. Great place the food is outstanding and they will accommodate anything or anyone. The wait staff is always cheery and smiling and super duper nice. Can’t be any nicer !! We went years ago and returned again on Valentine’s Day with the fixed menu and they did not disappoint !! Please go and give it a try.

Great dinner at Gourmet Cafe. A reservation is a must for a Saturday night. We were seated very close to our reservation time. Everyone’s dishes were served hot and tasted great. Good service. It’s BYOB so bring your favorite wine. Very good menu.

It is a local restaurant that warmly welcomes all patrons. You can enjoy a meal in a cozy environment and know you’re getting delicious food – from appetizer to dessert.
What a great way to end the week – or even start it! Took my parents, wife and daughter on a Friday night. Antipasto. Meatballs. Plentiful and tasty. I had the capellini with shrimp and crab. Hot and tasty. Everyone loved what they ate. And some cannolis to finish it off.
Never a bad meal is underselling the Gourmet Cafe. Every meal is an enjoyable experience.

Excellent dishes.. I have noticed they put very little suace on the dishes: franchise, marsala, etc.. but great flavor.. Cesar are very small, how much is another few romaine leafs cost? One special entree had 3 broccoli florets, really!! Omg. How much does a few more cost.. ? Food is Excellent! But they are stingy on the side portions that turn me off.. BTW Owner and staff are very nice and accommodating.

Ordered delivery for a 16-person catering order for a corporate event and couldn’t be happier! Our local on-site catering was unavailable at last minute so we called in our order just a few days before our event. Matt was so attentive and helped me design the menu with everyone’s tastes and dietary preferences in mind. Highly recommend the California salad, meatballs and eggplant parm. Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it all was. Thanks again!
