[image-1] This past weekend, Burgers 2 Beer unexpectedly closed its Lakewood location (14725 Detroit Rd.) after two years in business.

This place was amazing!! The 80’s music had me dancing while playing a game of pool! My burger was undercooked and they fixed it right away! Our waitress was wonderful!! And the food was great!!

This is a family friendly environment with lots of activities for the little ones like pop a shot, shuffle board, and toy grabs. As a mostly vegetarian, I wasn’t excited about eating at a burger place, BUT I was pleasantly surprised, totally satisfied, and completely thrilled with their house made veggie burger. It was loaded with veggies and I got mine topped with onion rings and a dipping sauce. Needless to say, the next time my Hubby suggested getting “bar food,” I suggested this place. Parent and child approved.

My girlfriend and I went here for the first time today. I got the Particular Patty and she got the A Real Fungi burger. I was happy to see that the Particular Patty came with American and Swiss cheese just like it’s supposed to be. Usually restaurants just use one kind of cheese. Anyway, the Particular Patty was awesome! I added some of their BQB bbq sauce to it and man, it was so good. Even good for dipping the fries in! My girlfriend loved the A Real Fungi burger. She was extremely happy that she could substitute the bun for a gluten free bun. She also used the BQB sauce on it. She said the mushrooms tasted really good.
The atmosphere was very nice and quiet at the time we went. Our server Jenna took care of us and was very pleasant. We are definitely coming back. Gotta try that Nut Butter burger!

Food was delicious. Vegetarian and vegan options available. The mixed drinks were decent. Best of all was the prompt friendly customer service.
Pricing is reasonable as well. Obviously some were more expensive than others and additional toppings are a charge. Burgers came with fries. I had the sweet potato fries which were some of the best I’ve had in awhile. Does have a jukebox that you can pay to play music from. We had a problem with our order and the manager promptly apologized and responded. Offered a discount as well and checked back on us when the new order came out. We aren’t beer drinkers but I did notice a wide variety to select from.

I enjoyed my burger. It was topped with pulled pork an melted cheese. They seem to have a decent choice of beer both on tap and bottled. I had miller light because it was cheep for happy hour. The waitress was attentive and friendly. It was not crowded.

There were only 2 people at the bar and one other table, but the restaurant looked like it had been through a huge party only moments before (2pm Thursday). The floor was filthy, the tables were not wiped, even the bar was a sticky mess. A full wait-staff but the entire time we were there not a single person cleaned or wiped up anything.
The server did not know anything about beer or their menu. The beer list didn’t seem to distinguish between what was bottle vs draft and the server didn’t know. We had to go up to the bar and look. We ordered 2 beers and they were massive. Two strong craft beers. Well apparently they have two sizes and she gave us the huge one without asking which we wanted. She was very nice, just not great as a server.
Given the state of the dining room I didn’t even want to think what the kitchen looked like so we didn’t order, got half through our beers and left.
Too many great places to eat in Lakewood to go here.

Quite frankly their food is the only reason I’m giving them two stars. I have tried time and time again to give this establishment a chance. Since moving here in July, I would say I’ve dined-in four times and gotten take out at least three. However, they never cease to disappoint me with their service. Dine-in when you’re the only table in there you’ll wait 30 minutes for your drink order and it usually takes an hour to turn around a burger (WHEN THEY’RE SLOW). Take out gets the same poor service unfortunately… misplacing orders and undershooting the pick up time by 15-30 minutes or having to remake them. None of these times have I seen the manager apologize, have I been offered a discount, not even a free app (not that it would make it right, but come on). My patience just isn’t there. If this place would be run better, the food would make it a grand slam. Unfortunately though they can’t get it together.

I was pleasantly surprised at how diverse the menu was. There are a lot of choices, and a lot of them sound truly excellent.
My burger was incredibly messy, but good. The corn fritter thingies (me so corny, I believe) were also pretty good. I didn’t give it 5 stars, because I’d still rather grab something from The Rail, but I haven’t tried enough of the menu to say, “yeah, this place is truly killer.”

My wife an son come here alot when it’s very busy and said service was outstanding. Tonight the place was just about empty and the service was very poor. Had to ask for sugar for Iced Tea twice, then forget appetizer, the I had to ask for after meal was served, next ask for blue cheese on a burger an got none, when asked for was brought an amount equivalent to a teaspoon. Was told that it was the kitchens fault. I always thought it was the waitresses responsibly to insure the meal was served correctly. Still left 20% tip and left. I won’t go again even though the burgers are very good.

We LOVE burgers to beer ! My boyfriend and I have went to this location on several occasions and have not left disappointed once. The staff is friendly and they are fast, which we appreciate since we usually go before a show at one of the local music venues! Keep it up B2B !
