Afghan Kabob House offers a comforting and authentic Afghan dining experience. We ordered lamb with rice, along with traditional desserts like firni and ice cream, as shown in the photos. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the rice was well-seasoned and satisfying. The desserts were creamy, lightly sweet, and a perfect way to finish the meal. The atmosphere is simple and relaxed, focusing more on the food than décor, which fits the place well.
One downside is that the presentation is straightforward and not very polished, and service can feel a bit slow when the restaurant is busy. However, the quality and authenticity of the food make up for that.
Tip: If it’s your first visit, try their lamb dishes and traditional desserts, and come hungry—the portions are generous.

First time coming here! Wanted to try something different and unique! ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We had the chicken soup, combo platter with beef and chicken kebabs, the mixed platter with all 3 meats, chai tea and mango almond drink (can’t remember the name)! The soup was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The flavors were perfectly balanced!

AMAZING food! Everything was perfect and very clean. We ordered the Tikka Masala and the Ash soup. The soup is vegetarian with noodles, and it tasted great. The lamb chops were also an excellent choice, and the portion sizes were generous.

This Afghan restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was so delicious that after our first bites, we ended up ordering even more. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared.
The place itself is spotless and well-kept, with a great menu that offers so many tempting options. The service was excellent—our server went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and made us feel truly welcome.
After our meal, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is incredibly kind and warm. We even inquired about catering, and she gave us very reasonable prices for the same mouthwatering food we enjoyed at the restaurant.
Delicious food, friendly people, a clean and inviting space—what more could you want? Highly recommend!

Tonight, I finally ventured into the little restaurant I’ve driven by so many times. And let me tell you, I regret not stopping sooner. This place is a hidden gem! The food was, without exaggeration, some of the most delicious I’ve experienced in St. Louis. The staff was warm and attentive, making me feel right at home.
I started with the mantu, and each bite was a delightful journey – rich, savory, and finished with a surprising, refreshing mint note. For my main course, the combination kabobs of tender lamb and juicy chicken, accompanied by fluffy rice and a crisp salad, were a symphony of flavors. I also couldn’t resist ordering a side of their naan bread, and it was the perfect complement.
The whole experience was fantastic, and I’m thrilled to have discovered such a wonderful restaurant so close to home.

Best Afghan food I’ve had in St Louis. The Mantu is excellent I would recommend it. The Bolani was also very good with the chutney. Everyone was very happy with their Kebabs. Between the 4 of us we had the Chicken, Lamb and beef kebabs. We will be coming back next time we are in town!

Afghan Kabob House is one of the best hidden gems in STL!
The simple dishes pack a flavor punch. My favorites are the mixed grill, any of their curries, and their cauliflower.. but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
The service is great! They were very patient with our questions and gave awesome recommendations.

Very very good food. They were out of soup when I went but I got the lamb kebab and it was delicious. It took a while to get our check, but we also went at a slow time. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful place. It’s similar to the food from my bf’s home country and we’ll definitely be visiting again. The hummus was incredible, falafel delicious and the shrimp pasta was perfect. Presentation was also very well done.

It was our first time at Afghan Kabob House. My close friend has been here a few times and recommended so we came yesterday for dinner. Parking was easy. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Service was good. The only downside was we waited almost 1 hour for our food. It seemed like they were short staffed. We ordered the bolani potato, mantu, chicken tikka masala, and Kabuli Palau with Lamb Shank. I also got myself Doogh – its a savory yogurt drink similar taste like Ayran but more diluted and including cucumber and dried mint. We were very satisfied with the food here. Everything was flavorful and tasted amazing. Recommend.
