Decent place to get sushi, Japanese food in Laurel. They have a nice lunch special menu that is very filling. The sushi was pretty good and I enjoyed the salad and soup that came with it. I would come back.

Food was great, and the atmosphere was okay. I was expecting some Japanese music being played in the restaurant, but in stead there was no music being played. They did have TVs on with that was muted. The habachi chef seemed to be overworked because he was the only one doing it in the whole restaurant. He was a good chef, but he was worn down and going through the motions while he cooked. He has lost his showmanship and luster due to being worn down. Also they was short handed in thier waitress staff as well as there cooks and habachi chefs. Hopefully soon they can hire some more staff to make it 5 stars soon.

I’m always hesitant to order seafood because I won’t eat it if it’s not fresh. So I was more than pleasantly surprised to have one of the best shrimp and scallops dishes I’ve ever had and that includes restaurants on the coast and in New Orleans. The chef cooked them perfectly in front of us on the grill. The vegetables, fried rice and noodles were excellent too.

today i took my 13 year old sister to eat lunch.. we were seated quickly, the waitress STARTED OFF VERY SWEET. She was pretty quick in getting our food but i noticed we didn’t get an appetizer included in our gigantic lunch sized portioned plates… she informed me that they didn’t do it that way and that she was new so she was still getting the hang of things……. which was confusing and concerning, so i then asked if the portions we were served were lunch portions, she informed me that they were. When it came time to pay, i noticed we had been charged for two dinner plates……….. instead of correcting the problem and acknowledging her mistake, she created a very big fuss, saying very rude remarks, calling me IGNORANT & telling us to leave out of the restaurant. I have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service. I waited tables for high end establishments in Houston Texas and have NEVER GIVEN any one that kind of treatment if i was wrong about something… i spoke with the said owner and he didn’t seem too concerned, which is why im now here with this review. I won’t be back due to that behavior, but the food was good as usual… just be mindful when you’re black and correcting a white Woman on her mistakes

Really don’t know what all the buzz is about! Finally decided to give this restaurant a try.
Calamari rings- We asked the waitress the size of the calamari rings, she said they were small, this is what wanted. When the calamari reached the table it was Five rings, huge rings, rough and tasteless.
Miso soup- HORRIBLE AND COLD, it took 20 minutes to get them to reheat it.
“Hot and Sour Soup”- The worse I’ve ever had and we eat out just about daily. It was extremely salty, inedible. The restaurant did remove this from our bill.
Horrible waste of time and money. Will not come back and will not recommend.

I’ve eaten here plenty of times before but I won’t return for a while if ever. We were seated by the hostess about 8pm in the main dining area. She walked us past the owner and another girl who are sitting there as we pass by on the way to our table. The only other table in the main dining area was wrapping up their food in to-go boxes. So we were the only table to be served. We sat there for at least 10–15 minutes and no one ever came and checked on us or did anything. I even stared at the owner, waiting on him to look up from his phone so he would see that I was sitting at my table disappointed, and no one cared. Pretty sad.

Awesome flavor profiles in their specialty sushi rolls. Portion sizes are excellent. Only thing stopping me from a 5 star review is the stagnant green water under the bridge entrance outside.

Update – still great food that pleases the tastebuds and the portion sizes never leave you hungry. Thanks again for an amazing dinner.
