Everything we ordered was so delicious, especially the roasted duck and hand-shredded chicken with jellyfish. The waiter was friendly. He packed all the leftover for us! Forgot to take the picture of the duck before we finished though.

Best Chinese food in Davis! Love their lemon chicken and teriyaki chicken. Food plates are quite big. Service is nice and friendly! Recommended

Our college friend group recently returned to Davis for a visit, and this spot is a must-visit for us Aggies! It holds a special place in our hearts, bringing back so many great memories.
Each of us ordered a dish based on our college favorites: the House Fried Rice, Hand-Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish, and Braised Tofu with Vegetables and Mushrooms. The Hand-Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish remains my all-time favorite! It’s hard to find this unique flavor anywhere else, and it tasted just as delicious as I remember from my college days. The food was tasty and nostalgic, making the experience even more special.

Tasty Kitchen offers a family-style dining experience, which is great for a big group. We went with 8 people on a weekend night and were seated right away. No reservation needed. The restaurant has a casual vibe with lazy susan tables in the center of each booth, perfect for sharing dishes.
However, the service was a bit of a letdown. Since it wasn’t busy, the staff seemed relaxed to the point of inattentiveness. We frequently had to flag them down to order or ask for the bill.
The food itself was decent. We ordered a variety of dishes like egg fried rice, orange chicken, chicken chow mein, cashew nut chicken, Mongolian beef, and kung pao beef. Most dishes were okay, but a little on the generic side. The orange chicken, a classic, was a bit too heavy on the sweet and sour sauce. A couple of us enjoyed the Mongolian beef, which had a nice savory flavor.
Overall, Tasty Kitchen is a decent option for a casual family-style meal, especially for a large group.

Food was delicious. My rating on this place is solely on the food. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite part about the food was the breading was very thin so we had nice sized portions of meat in every bite. It tasted fresh and was very nice serving sizes. My only complaints are the decor being old fashioned and lack thereof and also the staff seemly not caring about anything you have to say or your existence. Our waiter did nothing to show disrespect, but he seemed like he didn’t really care. Not that this changed my opinion because the food was so good. Thanks tasty kitchen. We will be returning.

First time this location and recommended by one of the local student. Food is cheap and not bad, we ordered three plates and in our opinion the duck and the chicken over rice was the best. The fried noodle have no taste but it was alright. Will give another try in the future but so far, only recommend the rice plate.

Solid homestyle Cantonese spot. They always have seating available and orders come out fairly quickly. Each dish was close to $15 excluding tax and tip and is definitely worth it as we had leftovers.
Braised tofu was still crunchy. Didn’t come with too many mushrooms but had a lot of bok choy that, especially for davis, we’re surprisingly young.
The Szechuan chicken is not spicy but a little tingly, on par for what you expect. Sweet veggies and good sauce,
Tofu chicken and salted fish clay pot was around $14, rice was $2. Decent, a little sweet, nice ginger.
Also pictured is beef chow mien, also around $12.
For the area is 4 stars (I wouldn’t mind coming back if I needed Chinese in Davis), but for the bay it would be 3.5 stars.

I’m know on Google for my honest reviews, this place has a very nice atmosphere with a lot of windows, the food is a 2 out of 5, its super oily and we got the steak that seems like it was popular and 70% of it was full of fat at literally no meat. I told the person that worked there and he seems like he didn’t care and he said its normal. Overall I don’t recommend this place but its can be nice for trying it or sharing a food with a friend, cz the atmosphere is very nice.

The food is extremely presentable and looks phenomenal but is mid at best. The rice was $2 a bowl with no free refills which was a little mind boggling to me. Besides the rice, the prices were not awful. The service was also barely reaching the bare minimum. It did however have a very quiet and calm environment which was nice.

First off, I’m working in Davis from out of town and was craving Chinese food on a Monday night. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place is. I love Chinese food and have my go to spots back home in Los Angeles but I’d easily put them towards the TOP. Big portions, fresh taste and a great selection to choose from. I ordered the fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken and broccoli beef and that was for one person. Had plenty for lunch the next two days. I will be back next chance I get .
