I absolutely love Tocayos Express Mexican Food in Portage, IN! It’s my go-to spot for consistently delicious, casual Mexican food. The restaurant is clean, the ambiance laid-back, and the service is always quick and responsive. Even during busy times, the wait is minimal.
On my latest visit, I ordered shredded chicken tacos but was accidentally given shrimp tacos instead. Since everything I’ve had here has always been good, I decided to try them out—and wow! The shrimp tacos were spectacular! Cooked perfectly, they were tender, moist, and bursting with flavor—some of the best shrimp I’ve ever tasted. Paired with their always-amazing chips and queso, the meal was unforgettable.
This place offers fantastic value for the money, and it’s a regular stop in my monthly rotation. Highly recommend, especially if you’re craving top-notch shrimp tacos!

Went here for the first time yesterday. I enjoyed their tacos. Pretty darn good. Their Tres leches cake was dry. The staff was friendly but, they definitely need more help. My Fiancé ordered a barbacoa burrito & enjoyed it. I would recommend this place over the others & I will definitely be going back.

Take it to go! they have no real silverware so eating a burrito with cheese sauce on top was impossible, tacos and nacho fries are fire, chips sucked, definitely not fresh. Will order tacos to go in the future.

I ordered the catering food truck for my company and it was a hit. Bernie was great at helping me get my order taken and Miguel was our food truck operator. The customer service was phenomenal and the food was amazing. We will definitely use them again!!!

This is solid express Mexican food. Honestly, it’s hands down the best shredded chicken I’ve had in a Mexican restaurant. I had the taco salad with…wait for it… shredded chicken as my meat. I did not put any dressing on it. The meat was beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked – done but not dry with enough of the cooking liquid in it to compliment the salad. My husband had a steak burrito that was massive – yes, the burrito. He was equally pleased with his choice. The staff was friendly and patient with us first time customers and happy to answer questions. The appetizer, entree, and non-alcoholic drink options are pretty extensive for an express restaurant but not overwhelming. The order to ready time was crazy fast – there was a steady stream of people in and out ordering and/or picking up – and one other table that had two people dining in. We will 100% be back for really good express Mexican food. Glad my husband googled places to eat while we were in Portage. Glad we didn’t settle for bad fast food options.

My husband and I come here at least once a week! It’s the best Mexican food you can get for miles. Our orders have never been wrong. The food is consistent in great quality. Never been disappointed.
