We had been going here for years, years, like since early 2000’s. Always seemed great but slowly declining in certain ways. This last, and I do mean last, visit got me to review.

We ordered online, paid, went to pick up. 20 minutes later they said they just received our order. Sent our son to grab after his classes and he had to wait an additional 20. So husband calls to complain and all we got was, “sorry, there’s nothing we can do about it.” No offer of compensation, not even a miso soup. THEN!! My husband says, “well…” and she hangs up!! Son comes home, and there’s zero napkins, silverware/chopsticks, and the “tempura” for the udon?? A joke, 2 skinny shrimps and 3 vegetables. Tons of noodles though, I guess to fill the bowl up with something.

Their 1 star reviews are growing. Beware!!

I really enjoyed the variety here. The bento box with the fried porkchop was great! I think some of the simple rolls were premade as you couldn’t add things like jalapeno but was still fresh and delicious. The menu is extensive and I want to go back to try more items that I’m not familiar with. We ordered a variety to share and everything was fantastic and quickly prepared.

This restaurant has been open for over 25 years and has always been my favorite spot for authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Today is my brother’s birthday, and we decided to go there for dinner upon my request. Lily made the most delicious dishes for us! I will never stop going there! Best restaurant In town

Genroku Sushi & Grill: A Flavorful Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Nestled in a cozy corner of the neighborhood, Genroku Sushi & Grill is a delightful culinary destination that seamlessly blends the art of sushi with vibrant Asian flavors. As a frequent visitor, I’ve had the pleasure of savoring several dishes, and I can confidently say that this restaurant never fails to impress.

Orange Chicken:
One of my all-time favorites, the orange chicken at Genroku is nothing short of sublime. The perfectly crispy breading encases tender chicken pieces, and the luscious orange sauce delivers a delightful balance of sweetness and tang. It’s an explosion of flavor that keeps me coming back for more.

Mapu Fried Fish:
Another standout dish is the mapu fried fish. The fish is fried to a golden perfection, providing a satisfying crunch that complements the tender meat inside. The mapu sauce adds an irresistible umami kick, creating a harmonious balance that excites the palate.

Wonton in Chili Sauce:
The wontons in chili sauce are a must-try! Each dumpling is packed with flavorful filling and enrobed in a zesty chili sauce that adds just the right amount of heat. It’s a dish that showcases the restaurant’s commitment to bold flavors and authentic recipes.

Eggplant with Garlic Hot Pot:
To round off my favorites, the eggplant with garlic hot pot is a true culinary masterpiece. The eggplant is incredibly tender and absorbs the garlic-infused broth beautifully. It’s hearty yet light, making it a fantastic option for those who crave something comforting and flavorful.

Overall Experience:
The ambiance at Genroku is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend dishes or adjust spice levels to suit individual preferences.

In conclusion, Genroku Sushi & Grill is a gem that offers an exciting menu full of innovative combinations and timeless classics. With their exceptional orange chicken, mapu fried fish, wontons in chili sauce, and eggplant with garlic hot pot, every visit is a culinary adventure worth savoring. If you’re in the area, be sure to pay a visit—you won’t be disappointed!

A little gem of a place. The menu is varied and features both a chinese-taiwanese menu and a japanese grill menu. They have specials on the wall and its worth checking out. Surprisingly most of the customers seems to be ordering mostly from the chinese menu and they do have some specialties as well as old standbys. worth checking out. i think i will return to try some of the other dishes

The owner owns the restaurant for more than 30 years. Both chefs have worked with her for years. One chef is 71 years old and the other is 81 years old. The food taste like home! We really enjoy the food, and have been visiting since 2007. The sauce of spicy dumplings is home made by the owner! You can only taste it here! The must order is three cups intensities and Taiwanese popcorn chicken! Of course, Taiwanese pork stews rice.

The tough part is, do you want sushi or something from the grill. The basil chicken, there’s lots of spices! Was surprised with the amount of chicken in the dish. It’s enough for 2-3 people to share. That is if you order some additional dishes. The stir fried eggs with shrimp was. The beef with jalapenos pepper was also good. We got it with low heat, rather the mild. During winter time this dish would be great with the mild heat. Service was good, kept the water glass full. Unlike most Asian restaurant that close on Tuesday or Wednesday, they are closed on Monday.

Most of the items are delicious. It had a hometown flavor, but the oyster omelette tasted disappointing. It felt like I was just eating flour paste, and it didn’t feel like oyster omelette.
The owners or waiters are very kind and the service is great. It’s a restaurant worth a return visit
