A bit spend your but we’ll worth it! I had the ribs and my husband and daughter had the brisket. Portions were absolutely perfect for us. Ribs were heavenly! Sauced just the right amount and it was perfectly caramelized. Brisket was fresh, juicy, and prime rib tender. Cole slaw was good and cheesy potatoes were ok. Like other comments, I was really hoping for some steak fries. Service was amazing. We were greeted promptly and courteously. Server was attentive and we were wished a great afternoon by nearly every member of the staff as we left. This is our new go to BBQ joint! P.S. we’re from Texas too and this brisket is better than any Texas BBQ place I’ve been to.

My husband and I decided to stop here for lunch last Tuesday because he is a big BBQ fan. Having grown up in Texas, I am not a fan of any of the BBQ that I have tried here in this area, however
I gave in and found myself seated in the newly opened Hog Heaven for lunch.
Pros:
The meat truly was the star. I had brisket and he had chopped pork. Both were tender, fresh (not dried out from sitting) and the portion size was good. They also have a drive through to call ahead and order food to go which is a super plus for me when I want to grab and go.
Cons:
I didn’t care for any 3 of their house made BBQ options. The original tasted like North Carolina vinegar to me, the sweet tasted pretty much of honey and was quite thin, and the sweet and sassy was the honey sweet with some kick to it. I do feel that truly good meat doesn’t need sauce, but I was eating a sandwich and the dry bun demanding some sort of saucing so I used the sweet (sparingly). My last complaint is their sides. They do not offer french fries which I guess makes them different but I really just wanted some crispy potato sticks to go with my meat. (or even potato salad??) I opted for cheesy potatoes which were good, for the first few bites, then because a little heavy and dense with each subsequent bite. I have heard the mac and cheese is very good, but we didn’t order it so I can’t vouch for that.
Conclusion: I deducted one star for the sides and bbq sauce but lets face it, the main reason anyone goes to a BBQ joint is for the meat, and theirs was top notch (even for a Texas girl like me). We will most likely be returning to take meat to go and paring it with sides and BBQ sauce I have made at home.

I had the combo plate; pick two meats. I had the Chicken and smoked turkey.
Both were to die for. Both were moist and had amazing flavor.
Service was quick and fast. Friendly!
Only complaint is it was very noisy in there but they had several large parties.
Ample room; did not feel crowded or squished together. Lots of TVs to watch.
Definitely recommend again!

This is probably the best BBQ in Winter Haven. I tried the sausage, chopped pork, ribs, okra, backed beans, and collard greens. Everything I ate had good flavor, was served at a good temperature. My only complaint was the rids were a bit fatty. The kitchen got our order a little mixed up but it was no major problem. Service was well.

Absolutely the worst BBQ I have EVER had. The sauce was like water. The portions were like what a kids meal should be and EXTREMELY over priced for the amount of food (of you can even call it food) that you get. You’d be better to go to Sonny’s BBQ if you want anything that tastes like BBQ. They don’t even have pulled pork or even French fries. Yeah they really suck. The staff is extremely impatient and never there ,except to take order and give you your check.

We ate there last night. I was not impressed with it at all. I ordered the chicken sandwich and pork and beans and cole slaw. I asked the waitress if they shredded their chicken for the sandwich and she said yes. So with that I ordered it and it had bones all through the sandwich. The pork and beans had a big bone in it. My son did like their ribs, they were tender but he said the smoked sausage casing was way to chewy. The macaroni and cheese was way to heavy. My husband said his pork sandwich was ok. The waitress never came back to check on us and see how we were doing. I do not think we will eat there again.

My boyfriend and I went to Hog Heaven on a Friday night, and barely anyone was there. The food was absolutely amazing, but their service was HORRIBLE. The host took our drinks and our order, and another waitress gave us our check, after having to go up and ask for it. We didn’t even know who our server was until we looked on the top of the check!! And the person who we believed to be our server only brought us one tea refill, asking which one of us wanted the refill – we both had empty drinks! – and then left and started walking around the restaurant. IF we go back, we will definitely be getting it to-go from now on. Not impressed.

We waited in line last night for 30 mins to be told that everything was sold out except Pork. It was 6pm, very cold out and that is not acceptable. Twice I have had to leave because they were out of everything. 3 other times I made do and ordered whatever they had but this is too many times. If they do not remedy this situation, they will end up like Bubbachucks. Great when it worked, but ultimately gone forever because they knew nothing about Logistics and failed to scale to meet demand. Success is as dangerous to a business as failure.

I stopped in with only a few minutes to order a couple of sandwiches to go. $14 and over 15 minutes later I’m walking out with 2 sandwiches, 1 brisket and one pork, that must have been lost in the corner of the kitchen for over 10 minutes…stone cold. Rating the quality of the meat I would give it a 3 (could have been a 4, but hard to say when it’s that cold), the portion a 3 and service an F. An apology, at the very least, was in order, but nada.

ate there a few months ago with my mom… it was ok then I went back with my mother in law. and it was absolutely horrible my mother in law never got her food. my food was cold and the manager was extremely rude. my mother in law called to speak with the owner about our bad experience and he proceeded to call her a lair and yell at her over the phone….
