The restaurant is beautiful and pleasant. The service was impeccable. The menu is diverse with great options. Everything we ordered was super fresh and very tasty! I have nothing but praise for the savory dishes—they were incredible! I must confess I had high expectations for the only chocolate dessert option; it looked beautiful, but to my palate, it was tasteless. The ice creams were delicious, though! I’ll definitely be back for the main menu.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Sado and chose the omakase experience. Every single course was exceptional. Beautifully executed and absolutely delicious. The whole evening had that “celebrity dinner spot” energy.

I came here for my birthday with a table of 5 and had a great time! We went at 5:30 on a Thursday to do the social hour tasting. They were very accommodating and allowed all 5 of us to do the tasting even though it’s usually for 2 (so they charged us for 2.5 tastings). I was surprised by how much food was included in the tasting – by the time the desert came out I was full. The nigiri was my favorite; when the first one came out we asked for soy sauce and the waitress told us we wouldn’t need it. She was 100% right.
The staff members were all very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. The atmosphere was very nice too. Probably some of the best food I’ve had in STL.

After visiting Japan, my expectations for sushi are high and Sado absolutely exceeds that. This is definitely the best high quality sushi fine dining experience in Saint Louis. I recommend doing omakase, the waitress was incredible in pairing the best dishes for our taste palette. I also ordered the butterfly pea lavender iced tea, and it was so perfect. Arguably the best iced tea I’ve ever had, not too sweet and very refreshing. 10/10 experience!

We made a dinner reservation here because our favorite waitress, Elise, started working here a while ago and we haven’t been to visit her. Request to be seated in her section if you want a night of warmth, attention, and culinary knowledge. Definitely need a reservation. The restaurant was full but not overwhelming. The layout was broken down in to several smaller rooms so it still felt intimate with a low noise level. We showed up early and enjoyed unique expertly crafted cocktails. I had a dirty martini with chili oil that has become my new favorite drink! Incredibly unique menu. We are huge sushi fans but the variety in the Sado menu is immense and it screams “be brave! Eat something besides salmon rolls!” The executive chef, Nick Bognar, describes the menu as Japanese Thai fusion.
So we got brave! We went with the Omakase tasting which allowed our fabulous evening guide Elise to lead the event. This was a fun option that put so many menu options on our table I might not have otherwise tasted. Come with an empty belly and an open mind. You’ll not be disappointed!

My husband and I had the most delicious meal here. When we travel, we often seek out good restaurants for a treat! This place is A++ across the board. The staff was friendly, and we only waited 20 min as a walk in. The apps, main dishes and dessert was DELICIOUS! Though it was expensive, it was worth every penny. Take the waitresses suggestions, they know what they are talking about. Can’t wait to come back here next time we are in St. Louis!!!

Everything about this place was high-end, the atmosphere and ambience was intimate, with tastefully decorated walls and decor, low lighting but a small portable table lamp was present for lighting the table and artful food. A good place to go eat for a fancy occasion.

Had a great date night at Sado!! It’s the perfect intimate setting with melt in your mouth, amazing food. We opted for the crab rangoons, gyoza and brussel sprouts for appetizers. For ours mains, my husband and I split (pictured in order) the crying tiger roll (hamachi), shibo maki (salmon), akami maki (tuna) and Nikkei maki rolls (salmon). My favorite by far was the Nikkei maki, while my husband’s favorite was the crying tiger. Our server was super knowledgeable and explained the fusion & inspiration behind each dish. Would 100% recommend for anyone trying to expand their food horizons. Next time, we will come back for the omakase experience!! *small note: auto gratuity of 20% is added for all party sizes*

My daughter took me here for Mother’s Day and I don’t like raw fish but I ate bluefin tuna nigiri at this restaurant because I just had to try bluefin after watching the series Wicked Tuna. It was outstanding! The sushi chef served it to us both fresh/raw and then a seared version and I am surprised at myself to say that the fresh/raw version was melt in your mouth absolutely delicious. We ordered three other rolls that were excellent but after eating that bluefin tuna, there was no comparison. Unfortunately, we did not get a picture of the Bluefin nagiri because we ate it too quickly. I would eat here every night if I could afford it. I highly…and I mean HIGHLY… recommend this restaurant if you are a lover of all things sushi. They even have a flight of their various Sake wines… novel and delicious. Don’t miss this restaurant if you ever come to St Louis.
