I can’t attest to the atmosphere as I ate in my car after a random 3 hour drive where I ended up in Owensboro kentucky and was getting hungry so I stopped here And…OMFG this place is great. Milkshake was great burger was great and onion rings were all great.

Very nastalgic, home-made ice cream place. Their grilled chicken wasn’t really grilled, it was boiled to cook and then just thrown on the grill for aesthetics. The fried chicken sandwich was better. The lettuce on the sandwiches was fresh. The floors were sticky and carpets need a good vacuum and shampooing. The staff were very, very friendly. They give a Jr size ice cream in the children’s meals. Their ice cream tastes good. They make real chocolate milkshakes by using chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce but they will make either upon request.

As usual my food was 4/5 star. But I had to use the bathroom, which to my surprise was so filthy I couldn’t believe it. The sink, toilets and floor were all really dirty. As a person who’s worked in retail I know it gets tough to watch everything, but that and the kitchen areas should always be clean , especially to the public.

Had a coupon for free ice cream on my birthday. Offered phone to the Lady at window so she could scan the code. She said That’s OK, honey, I got ya. Checked receipt when I got home, and lol ya she GOT me charged for the free ice cream. That was the only reason I drove out of my way and ordered lunch from them. Not worth the time and effort to drive back. Just chalk it up to a lesson learned.

Went here 30 minutes before closing and was told they aren’t allowed to serve food anymore for the night. Why be open til 10pm if you can’t even serve fast food??
