La Montana was our go to place one or two times a week for 3 years. We slowly noticed the absence of customers. Apparently, management thought it was a good idea to change the menu adding pizza, hamburgers, and pasta Alfredo. Oh, did I mention the receipt and menu prices didn’t match and when we brought it to our server’s attention (who was great), we were told prices increased. You can’t advertise one price on the menu and charge another. It’s called fraud- thrift by taking. We could see our servicer explaining the situation to the manager. The server came back and said the pricing is done at the restaurant in Gainesville and the registers are connected together. We told him to correct the situation and credit us the $4+ dollars. The server went back to the manager, relayed our message, and got visibly angry. Our receipt was corrected. New menus came in a couple weeks later. Been there several times since… Now comes our latest visit. Great service as usual, oh no….. another new menu. Too many items, drinks have same exact ingredients but because they’re in a different vessel, they’re called different names? Had the same problem with by one get one large cheese sauce. Only got one and was given excuses from the owner’s niece who was not our server. And then she acted like she did us a favor by crediting us the difference. She made sure to point it out on the receipt tapping her finger at the amount while posturing with her hand on her hip. We hate it, but this was probably the last time we’ll be there. It’s not the server, it’s all about bad management.

My wife and I absolutely love the people and the restaurant we are here at least 3 times a week .. friendly and gracious staff especially Lencho , Mago , Arlene , Reuben, alexandro and the two Raul’s .. they truly make you feel like family. You won’t regret the experience.

The food is very bland. The absolute LEAST of my favorite of so-called Mexican food, however the service was good. I tried them when they 1st opened yrs ago and the food wasn’t good then either. To this day the food still isn’t good. I doubt if I’ll ever go back. I’ve NEVER had fish tacos that didn’t have some type or special sauce to give it a zesty or distinct flavor. They didn’t have any sauce and they serve it with lettuce, tomato & sour cream. lol (Yes, with fish tacos.) The other items I got were bland also.

La Montaña is a delicious Mexican restaurant to eat at. I’ve been here three times now and can really say the food is high quality. My favorite thing so far is the salsa, though; I would just come here for the salsa alone. If I were to gripe about anything, it would be the fact that some shrimp dishes come with very skimpy portions of shrimp. I also think the guacamole dip could be improved upon compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to.

Tried La Montana for the first time and loved it! The wait staff were very friendly and efficient. The food arrived quickly and our entire order was correct. The food was fresh and everything had amazing flavor. The dining area was very clean and pleasant. And the price is very reasonable. My wife and I had two drinks, an appetizer, two main entree’s, and some extra sides, for a total bill under $50! A great Mexican dining experience. I highly recommend them and definitely will be returning.

Love the food here but our last visit the whole restaurant smelled like a sewer, or a port-a-potty which made our dining experience less than faborable. Service is always fast and friendly. I wish their menu was a bit more condensed because its unnecessarily long when they could just offer the core items that their kitchen hones. Anyways its good inexpensive American-friendly-Mexican food that we always like to have for lunch when visiting Athens.

Everything we have ordered has been delicious. The pork carnitas is a great value because I usually have enough leftovers for at least one more dinner. The al pastor street tacos are also very good. Ask for salsa picante verde and salsa picante rojas because the house salsa is bland.

Yesterday was my first time eating there and everything was delicious! I ordered the mixed nachos with shrimp, chicken, and steak with a House margarita and it was so good. Everything was so flavorful and I will definitely be back

WOW!!! I am so so impressed with this place and absolutely blown away by everything! The food, the drinks, the music, the service!! All of it is on point and the staff is so so friendly! Not a thing came out late or wrong! The drinks are so so good and taste great but get you feeling right! Couldn’t be happier and I promise you won’t be either! I will be frequenting this establishment more! Please just go !!!
