Good food, friendly staff.
I recently came in with a group of photographer friends one evening after having to leave Glen Echo Resort Restaurant because they didn’t want to provide a dining experience a half hour before closing.
Basil took our group, fed us well and it wasn’t expensive. I highly recommend this place. Best restaurant withing 15 miles of Red Feather Lakes.

Excellent food and wonderful staff! Great prices too.
We ate here twice during our short stay in the area. The elk burgers were fantastic, they serve huge French dips, yummy homemade soups, and tasty pizzas and flatbreads. If you are a fan of burritos, try the smothered burrito! Just make sure you are hungry, it’s enormous!
If you are in the area, it’s definitely worth a stop.

After hiking for several hours, we happened on Basil by accident–what a pleasant surprise. Food was surprisingly good and well priced. Although they had run out of Buffalo, I was satiated by the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sammy. These folks love to use bacon, and you’ll love their food.

Found this little gem while up in northern Colorado. Friendly staff and patrons. Had the wings and bacon wrapped jalapenos with a few beers and loved them. The cowboy nachos looked amazing and I really wanted to try their steak special but time wouldn’t allow. Hope to go back again someday.

Overall, good food good service. However, I saw a review about “they love their bacon” and my Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap was missing a key component… Bacon. But, as un-American as this sounds, I preferred it without. And was happy in the end! (It was also listed on the menus as having a Tomato Basil tortilla wrap, mine was lacking that as well.)

Lovely little nook with excellent food. It’s a quaint spot for locals, they have pool tables and live music on occasion. Their menu is pretty exceptional for such a small little spot. It’s a must when visiting Red Feather Lakes

Servers and waitstaff were rude and offensive. Even the bartender was hateful- I understand that they ‘get tired of tourists’ however, I own property there and quite frankly, there aren’t enough ‘ locals’ for a business to be profitable, so you had better cater to ‘the damn tourists’. Left before even ordering, and I can typically stand quite a bit of nonsense. This was awful. It was my first & last time there.

Great little local place with far nicer food than you would ever expect to find in a place that is so off the beaten path. I got a Buffalo burger and added smoked provolone and sautéed mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious! My wife got the asparagus chicken noodle soup and a Margherita pizza and she said both were fabulous. We did wait a bit for our food but it was sooo worth it and we will definitely be back before we head back east.

The service was excellent. Thank you Riley ! The menu has several refreshing choices, as well as a few good old standbys.
I had the Pork Chops with Sage and Pineapple special. It came with white rice and grilled asparagus. The pork chops were very tasty. The seasoning was great. The jus from the chops was the perfect accent to the rice. A bit more caramelization on the meat and deglazed pan drippings for the rice would have made it one of my favorites.
My friend had the fish tacos. She like them very much.
I had the peach pie. It was good.
