Cooking is not just steaming rice and making a pot of gravy, it is the blending of different spices in their right proportion. Every spice has its own medicinal properties, so food is both appetizing and healthy. The goodness of banana leaf is also highlighted in the Sangam literature. As it serves as a plate it is equally hygienic, healthy and eco- friendly. Its waxy exterior helps prevent sogging when served soupy foods as most of the South Indian meal comprises of curries and soups. It not only serves as a plate but also adds great flavor to the cooked food. Banana leaves are an excellent source of antioxidants, it cleanses the blood, stimulates appetite and also helps in digestion. My mom always used to tell me that cooking is an art.

Vegetarian options are also good.
We tried vegetation meals, parota and veg biryani.
Meal was scrumptious, veg biryani was also tasty.
But the parota was too hard and the chalna was a bit salty as well.
But overall if you go with hunger, the meals are the ones you should try.
LOVEEDDD their Nethili Fry, it was crisp and juicy.
We also tried their Parotta with Chicken curry and Chicken Dosa that I was very excited for. The Chicken curry was alright and the Chicken Dosa was basically a HUGE Uttapam with Chicken Kheema/Egg on top and it was not what I was expecting. Didn’t really enjoy the mains however we were extremely impressed with the Nethili Fry & got a takeout for just Nethili Fry for dinner that night.
If you are around, definitely stop by for Nethili Fry but have low expectations about other things.
UPDATE: Visited Pleasanton again in 2024 and stopped by this place for the Nethili Fry & wasn’t disappointed- the good ol’ taste! YUM!
