We were passing through Port Augusta and friends had highly recommended us this restaurant. We decided to go there for breakfast.
The restaurant exudes an old world charm. We had the Big Brekkie and the pancakes. Both were excellent, and the price was very reasonable too.
Unfortunately, what could have been an excellent experience was marred by a rather impatient wait staff who took our order. As this was our first visit, we probably asked more questions than she was used to. You could see the look of displeasure on her face! The food was later served by another staff who was much more professional.
All in all 5 stars for the food and ambience, and 3 for the quality of service rendered.
As for the sad looking latte art, I am not bothered at all as I care more about the taste of the coffee than how it looks!

My family came here for brunch on our road trip, our food was scrumptious and we were very pleased with the customer service. The young Indian chef served us very well. The quality of the food was amazing and was very fresh. Would love to recommend to a mate

Nice hidden spot in the town. The staff were very friendly and the service was ok. Most of the Indian dishes were nice except for a bit of too much sugar in the curries. Naan was very nice but the oysters were quite average and maybe not so fresh. I’d come back to this place for Indian food only.

Wow – absolutely sensational Indian cuisine! With an extensive menu, there’s bound to be a dish to keep everyone happy. Of course, we ended up ordering too much but we were able to bag up the remainder and take it home. Friendly service and beautiful venue

The Standpipe Restaurant offers a dual menu – Australian and Indian. I was keen to have the Indian menu. The staff are friendly and the service was prompt. They have a decent wine list. The food was good! The curries were delicious as were the samosas and naan breads. A good Port Augusta option.

Originally we found it hard to find as it is a motel restaurant. Nice and clean, staff very helpful, food was flavoursome, prices for both food and beverages were reasonable. Setup and servicez catered for families, groups as well as couples and individuals.

Large dinning room on site which is very popular with the locals. Book your table early. Food is very nice and the waffles are something to write home about.
