Black Water Coffee in North Plains, OR is an absolute gem. The vibe is quiet, cozy, and comfortable, with plenty of space to settle in if you need to get some work done or just relax for a while.
The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took the time to explain their Arapaho Mocha (my drink of choice—made with oat milk), which I really appreciated. Both gentlemen working checked on us throughout our visit. We also ordered breakfast sandwiches, and mine was the bacon and Tillamook cheddar—delicious and satisfying.
The drinks are high quality, the food is excellent, and I love the thoughtful inclusion of Native American symbols throughout the space—it adds a meaningful and unique touch.
Thanks for a great start to our coastal adventure. We’ll definitely be back!

Great little coffee shop right off the highway. Quality ingredients, fresh. The breakfast sandwich is excellent with the bacon or ham, but the garlic aioli really seals the deal.
Their version of a Mexican mocha is delicious ‘Arapaho’ with cinnamon. You might ask for less sweet.
28 chairs, ideally situated for 2-4, but could handle 8 easily.

I went in today with my daughter to Blackwater coffee they had the cleanest and best smelling restroom I’ve ever been in. Sky greeted us at the door and was very nice. The turkey bacon avocado Panini was great. Definitely will be stopping back by.

Unfortunately this is just not good coffee. I greeted the girl at the register and she said nothing, really strange. I ordered a matcha and could tell by the color it was off. Tasted like a cup full of milk and sugar with a hint of matcha. Definitely a premade mix, certainly not worth $7. Also took forever on just one drink, not many people in the shop.
There’s too many incredible coffee shops in Portland, hope this one improves.

I’ve been here twice now and the staff and owner are incredibly friendly and helpful. Still figuring out some things, but willing to go the distance. Excellent coffee. They serve local coffee from a place right in town. They also serve lotus energy, which I’m a fan. The sandwiches have high quality ingredients. The breakfast sandwich has a really fun aioli garlic sauce. There are games to play and a cozy atmosphere. This will definitely be a regular spot for my family.
