The variety of choices can be overwhelming but the server was helpful when asked questions. The appetizers came out prepared and the meal itself can be as healthy as you make it by your choices. There are are lots of great veggies and fish options at the buffet that may be a introductory opportunity for kids if they are feeling up to the challenge. Younger kids may need guidance on how to use the hot pot and not mixing the raw meat with cooked meat. A great experience overall. My kids did want to highlight the desserts as being fluffy and soft.

Make sure you wear your sitting pants! All you can eat with prompt service and fresh food. The ingredient bar is robust to say the least. I love that you get to custom make your dipping sauce! They even have sushi included! Overall this place is amazing.

We visited at 7:30 PM and stayed for about an hour and a half, but the majority of the food at the self-serve bar was empty and not a single refill was done our entire meal. Despite asking several times, nothing was replenished. Customers were all walking around confused and with empty plates.

Also, the little bit of vegetables that were present were very poorly washed. The bok choy had dirt on it, so we had to rinse it ourselves. This seems to be a recurring issue.
Overall, the cleanliness of the restaurant and food was highly unsatisfactory. Even the servers complained that the cups were dirty.

When ordering wagyu, it felt like the meat was mixed with other types. The broth was bland, as if diluted with water. A female server with glasses and curly hair used overly casual language, calling customers “sweetheart,” which was uncomfortable.

Although this is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the only thing we could really eat was meat.
Overall, cleanliness, menu management, and operations need serious improvement.

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary and we chose UMI Japanese Shabu Shabu. We wanted to try something new and different. We chose the right place. A very good and wide selection at the food bar. Good broth and meat. Excellent service. I highly recommend. Also a great price for all you can eat. Our waitress also gave us a special dessert. She was so nice.

Service was excellent!
Food selection excellent! (Even for a Wednesday)
Restaurant was well organized and clean, plenty of plates, dipping bowls to select.
Meats, veggies, seafood, noodles, soda and dessert included in the all you can eat price. My family has a new favorite restaurant. A great shabu shabu experience!

First time at a hot pot style restaurant. Stormy provided excellent service! She took the time to explain how it works. What was amazing is that it was all you can eat, including appetizers, drink, and dessert.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there today and it was fantastic! The food was superb and our waitress Stormy was so nice and respectful. I loved the way she asked if she could ask to use my menu to explain how to order and then asked if it was ok to invade my personal bubble to show me how the soup heater in the table worked. I asked her if there was anything special we could do for our anniversary and she brought us a small dessert with XOXO written out in the whipped cream, and offered to take a couple pictures of us to remember the moment, so cute! I highly suggest going and experiencing the entire menu; Friday thru Sunday even if you show up at lunchtime, they are serving the entire dinner menu as well. They do, at least for what I could see based on where we were sat, only have 4 heating areas in the table for your broth pot so just keep that in mind.

Such a fun and enjoyable place to eat. For first timers, the staff is very helpful and makes the experience much easier. The sushi and hot pot meat is delicious. I recommend the potstickers as well.
I will say it’s hard to get your waiter back when they are busy but it is nothing that ruins the experience. We are regulars here now and will continue to be. We appreciate the diversity in the cuisine in this community!

The food here was pretty good! I loved the variety and all of the different flavors! I went here yesterday and the atmosphere and making your own food was super fun and interactive! However, there should be a few things added to provide the best experience during and after.

1. A sign saying how long to cook things. I currently have food poisoning because I wasn’t aware of how long to cook things. Meats and seafoods is a lot of what there is, and it would have most likely been prevented if there was a small sign at each table with a time to cook.

2. More utensils. I liked that there was a spoon, fork and chopsticks for people with different foods and dexterities. I wanted a ladle or large spoon to fish out anything that dropped and a few different utensils for uncooked and cooked foods. Also, having designated plates would be best to prevent that cross contamination

4. A more organized dining experience. It was overwhelming having everything at once. Going through the steps would make the experience more laid back. . Our waiter was very pleasant! We had never gone to hot pot, so we didn’t know what to order and how the order of operations went. Having a more guided approach to ordering and a better idea of what to do would have been really helpful. What I mean by this is bring out the drinks, finishing the appetizers and sushi then starting the hot pot. Or something of that sorts. There was only three of us and I know having four of us would be too much for the little space along with the many dishes.

This experience would have been best if I didn’t get sick of course, but having more preventative measures and organization would have taken this experience to the next level and I would definitely go again if some of these things were added.

We decided to try Umi after seeing a promotional video on Facebook. Excellent hot pot and sushi experience! More options than my husband and I could even try…Can’t wait to go back to try more of them. Great pricing for a quality all-you-can-eat experience, especially with so much VARIETY! The dipping sauce choices alone definitely warrant visiting again (and again).
Our service was prompt, friendly, and thorough (special shout-out to TYLER!).
