The place has a great vibe, the staff was friendly, and it’s awesome to have this NY-style deli right here in Greensboro. Highly recommend them if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be back!
Such a win. We really wish there was a location in Durham, but till then we’ll have to fill our car with bagels. Thanks so much!
The atmosphere is pretty standard cafe seating with simple decor. You’ll have to read the house rules on their chalkboard wall as their humor shows through :). The flow to order can be confusing but just be sure to pay attention to the arrows and sign and you’ll be fine.
If you opt for anything other than a bagel, try the coffee cake as it has a nice thick crumble layer! My dining mate was impressed with the smoked white fish as it had a great flavor and done well, didn’t taste store bought and it had a great smoke to it (not the liquid smoke).
I had the chicken salad, I thought it was alright (maybe a 3 out of 5 stars). But it’s also cause I prefer more chunky chicken pieces and this was shredded chicken. Not too much more ingredients to it either so it’s a very simple salad
My sister got the gluten free onion bagel with lox, egg and onion. She said it was excellent, and she was very happy they had gluten free options.
I got the Russian bagel (which is a pumpernickel bagel and onion seasoning) with pastrami and egg. It was delicious and actually it was much better pastrami than what I had in NYC.
I got a few bagels for later, 2 cinnamon raisin and a French toast. They were good and I recommend making sure to toast the French toast bagel because it was a bit chewy otherwise but it’s still good!
We will be returning!
And when I called, I asked for the “manager.” The person who answered the phone said, ” they’re asking for the manager, I guess that’s you.” Really? Why would I waste my time coming back there to get my $5 back. Yes it was not quite $5 but I told her to keep the change cuz I actually had cash.
In reading some of the other low scoring reviews, I see that they often berate the customer who says that their product is bad. What a wonderful way to do business!
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Greenfield’s. And I quit going because their bagels seem to be subpar.
This morning I ordered two pumpernickel bagels. Nothing else just the bagels. What I got were two hockey pucks these things are smashed and dense and inedible.
Yes I called the store and they offered to reimburse me. But it shouldn’t happen in the first place! If you’re going to advertise that you have dough from New York and your bagels are just like those in New York, You should not be serving hockey pucks. If they come out wrong, don’t sell them! It’s easy as that!
As always, the bagels themselves are amazing. I’ve learned to just get my cream cheese on the side because asking for light cream cheese isn’t a thing with the young ladies working there.
We ordered two bagels to go: a lox nova bagel and a toasted everything bagel with butter. When we got home, the order was incorrect. We called and asked if we could return to have it corrected and were met with a dismissive and rude attitude.
After driving back and receiving the corrected order, we again discovered issues. The lox nova contained only a few small pieces of lox, which is unacceptable given the price. More concerning, we found small pieces of hair in the bagels underneath the lettuce, tomato, and lox. This is a sanitation issue, not a preference issue.
This was not an isolated incident. On multiple visits ordering to-go, staff behavior has been consistently rude, unprofessional, and dismissive, as if customers are an inconvenience.
Ownership needs to take this seriously. Staff training, supervision, and basic food-handling standards are clearly lacking. Ignoring repeated feedback like this will only continue to damage the business.
