My husband and I went to this restaurant for a fun date night. The lively, energetic atmosphere could have entertained us on its own; however, the food was undoubtedly the star. Rather than go the entrée route, we ordered six appetizers. We wanted to taste everything. The eggplant caponata was authentic, with big juicy pieces of eggplant that were soft as butter. Another highlight was the muscles marinara with a sauce so delicious, I had to drink some of it on its own. The seafood salad was crisp and fresh. Squeezed on that lemon like it was my job. We definitely will be coming back with a larger group.

Not sure why people go crazy about this place. Walking in is a bunch of confusion, you tell the waitress? Host? I don’t know who.. where you want to sit?
There are two wine glasses on each setting (they do not sell wine here) ? So that’s odd. The server didn’t remove the extra settings or glassware which left the table extremely crowded.
The service was extremely brisk without any hint of personality.
The Sicilian antipasto which has two rice balls, 4 or 5 panella and a few potato croquets was pretty good. The calamari appetizer was cooked tender but had zero flavor.
Now the “star” of the show, the pizza. Which my father raves about being the best!
Was horrible. The bottom was burnt black yet the top was still raw. This made it impossible to pickup without literally everything falling off the slice. Taste was as expected. Burnt yet raw. Not worth it for me. I’ve had better slices for 1.50 on the street. At least the cheap pizza places have a hint of personality.
Extremely forgetable. Will not return.

Osteria Italiana is simply spectacular. Nick and his team are in a class by themselves. Authentic Sicilian cuisine at its finest. This is the place where chefs come to eat. You will be blown away by the freshest ingredients prepared lovingly by the best of the best. It’s exciting to have a place this outstanding on this side of the Hudson. It’s a BYOB. Come hungry and leave craving more. The team is imported from Italy along with many of the ingredients. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you the lengths they go to to create taste bud orgasms. Napoli pizza, arancini, and the seafood were perfection. Calamari fritti so fresh and bouncy. The staff warm like family. My wife grew up and ate countless Italian meals in her part of Brooklyn and Little Italy and noted she hasn’t had Italian food this good. Needless to say, we’re coming back and with wine next time (BYOB!)

Went for a friends 30th where we had various apps, pizza’s, salad, pasta and entrée’s. Everything was delicious the Sfincione was absolutely delicious and had authentic Sicilian taste. Arancini were incredible as well. Their Bolognese also was delicious but by this point I was very fully. Wish I snapped a few pics, but if you like Italian I’d definitely recommend. Excited to go back myself.

It’s a hidden gem in Garfield. Their portions are very good in size and their pizza is amazing. This is truly a sicilan eatery. The wait staff treats you like family and are warm and inviting making it a great dining experience for all.

A friend told me about this place, he always goes and orders out. It was my first time dining in this restaurant, Honestly the food was great but the service was absolutely awful. First of all we sat there for 45 minutes before they took our order. The lady that took our order and brought the food never once came to the table to check if we needed anything else.And for that reason I will never go there again. Great dining equals great food and excellent service.
