This was so good!!! , it does get busy. However, I love the portions and how quickly my food came out. Way bigger portions than other places in Oxford. This is a shrimp chimichanga.

Just had a to-go order from here and both my husband and I were satisfied! It’s one of the newest restaurant in town and we absolutely loved everything we had. The guy who took our order (possibly the owner? dunno) was super nice and friendly. Everything in our order was prepared correctly. The taste was good. The food in most other Mexican restaurants in Oxford are very salty to our taste but San Jose was just right in terms of the saltiness! All the ingredients seemed very fresh too, especially the veggies. We had shrimp burrito and shrimp chimichanga (we love our shrimps!), and they were not skimpy on the shrimps at all 🙂

Definitely will be going back to try some other dishes too. Their horchata was also tasty!

The best Mexican restaurant in Mississippi. I have eaten at probably at least 100 Mexican restaurant in Mississippi from the Gulfport to Southaven. I’m telling you it would be hard to beat this restaurant. Friendly clean and awesome flavors but keep in mind this ain’t Taco Bell. It’s real Mexican food prepared by real Mexicans not an American Mexican. Other words there momma or grandma taught them how to cook. It reminds me of Mexico Cities cooking in the 70s. It’s great. I don’t think they can be beat. Always remember nobody can make everyone happy but I feel this restaurant gives 100% trying. Thank y’all for awesome food and hospitality. My whole family loved it.

Overall good entrees. They need to work on their salsa. It’s the first thing you taste and It was basically like tomato purée or tomato paste. Not much “salsa” flavor. We were the ONLY customers in the restaurant on a Tuesday night between 6-7pm. The refried beans were inedible. Everything , especially their queso, was delicious! Just curious where everybody was? Never a good sign to see a completely empty restaurant. Hope they make it. Would give them another shot but really hope they work out their salsa recipe. That was so disappointing! Overall I’d give them 6/10 stars. Too many other options for Mexican in this town, you have to stand out with EVERY ITEM!

Would’ve given 0 stars if possible. Pretty terrible service. The server told us that we couldn’t have a strawberry daiquiri because it was “too hard”, then gave a table of 3 girls 3 strawberry daiquiris about 5 minutes later. We didn’t get our order taken for over an hour, and got 0 refills on drinks the whole time we were there. Really bad service, food was serviceable, but experience with server ruined it.

Our favorite restaurant to eat authentic Mexican cuisine. I love their chile relleno made from roasted poblano peppers stuffed with cheese, dipped in a fluffy egg batter and fried until golden brown! Best in the state. Cook and owner are from Houston, Texas as close to San Antonio Mexican food as we have found☆☆☆☆☆

My experience was horrible, I was racially profiled. My friends and I went to get margaritas. Our server overcharged us for the pitcher margarita as well as the shots. The server then said to my friends that another friend and I didn’t want to pay for his services which was not the issue. He then made it seem like that we had an issue with him. I would not recommend going here based upon the service we received being black young women.

It’s all in the name – authenic Mexican food. Food made fresh, guacamole made to your taste, yummy marinated chicken and the best flan, with caramel sauce, in the state. The lady who waited on us was exceptional. Friendly place.

Husband brought home dinner from San Jose last night. I’ve lived in many states, including New Mexico. The portions were fair although quite a lot of iceberg lettuce overtook each to-go container. I tasted three different entrees: one beef (burger) and two different chicken. All were quite bland.

Absolutely delicious sauce on the enchiladas rancheras. The margaritas are cheaper than at El Agave, and the food has a much better and more varied flavor profile 10/10 there aren’t enough stars
