Awesome bbq joint with amazing food

I used Red Wood Grill to cater a holiday family gathering. They were great in the planning process making sure we had the right amount of food and delivered in every way. Food was hot, moist and tasty. We ordered smoked brisket, smoked sausage and smoked chicken with red potatoes, green beans and their own bbq sauces.
It was a great meal enjoyed by all.

One of my absolute favorite bbq places! They have a patio and a great bar. Everything we had was amazing! The Mac bombs and spinach artichoke dip egg rolls were an absolute hit- and even the people that typically don’t like mushrooms loved the stuffed mushrooms. Def check them out!

Went in at just after 5pm for a scheduled takeout, was early for my time but had my food very quickly. No wait at all, and service was friendly.
Got the meat lovers platter. It came with a couple pieces of BRISKET that were well cooked but could’ve used a little more seasoning, some PULLED CHICKEN (i believe) that was nicely flavored in their BBQ SAUCE (which is just the right mix of savory and sweet, had the house and Rock n Rye, both wete solid sauces), a piece of SMOKED SAUSAGE that tasted exactly like it sounds, nailed it on the head, and a couple bones of RIBS that were the low point, again didnt taste any seasoning, a little dry on the bite but the inside was ok, still had some juice and was fall off the bone tender.
Had sides of Mac & Cheese and Mashed Potatoes w/ gravy
Mac N Cheese was very solid, nothing too fancy but still hit the spot. Definitely seemed like they went rue only and added very little extra cheese too which I dont count as a negative and peppered nicely, could’ve used a dash of salt.
Mashed Potatoes were the STAR of this meal for me. Potatoes were chunky, skin still on, and well flavored. And the gravy was seasoned to perfection, loved these.
Will be back for more…

I cannot recommend this place enough!! Fantastic food, great service and an awesome relaxed atmosphere. We had a group of 4 and each of us ordered something different. Every single one of us raved about how delicious our selection was. The price is very reasonable for food and drinks. It’s more than just your typical bbq with delicious spins on favorites as well as traditional bbq. Anyone giving this place less than five stars is an enemy in my book. Genuinely some of the best food I’ve ever had, I cried when I had a bite. The staff were amazing. The building looks awesome, the only complaint that I could possibly have is the bathroom is a little small. Even so, this is the best barbecue I’ve ever had in Michigan.

Red Wood Grill is an underrated gem in the Waterford area. Solid service with good quality food. A bar and dining area with great atmosphere and decor. The brisket egg rolls are super creative and phenomenal. What was most impressive was the relatively low price especially for barbecue. Also, an added bonus that we found attractive was the amazing smell throughout the whole restaurant as the smoker was right out front and in plain smelling and viewing distance!

Today I got to stop into Red Wood Grill in Waterford for a photo shoot with Doordash. Manager Denise, server Jordyn, and Chef Scott were all very friendly, welcoming, and ready to serve up some great BBQ!
From great looking appetizers to pulled pork, ribs, sausage, and some decadent cheesecake, there is something for everyone here. Just be sure to come hungry as the portions are huge! If you are a fan of restaurants like Smoke Street in Milford or West Texas BBQ in Jackson, this would probably be similar so give them a try!

If you like barbecue this is the place to go! Fall off the bone ribs! Meatloaf the best I ever had from a restaurant you have to try it! If you like jalapeño peppers you have to try these wrapped in bacon oh so good! Other people had the chicken and they said it was delicious I thought for the price it was well worth it. The deserts were awesome (cheesecake) waitstaff very friendly so treat yourself too some amazing food! Sorry no photos but you won’t be disappointed.
