I’ve eaten at this restaurant before and it was great food and good service. However, I went today and the service was absolutely horrendous. I was sat down and it took at least 30 minutes for the servers to take my order, and the servers would walk past me and not even make eye contact. Eventually they realized we hadn’t placed an order and took our order. Eventually then, to order desert and get the check took way too long as well. We didn’t receive the complementary bread either. Another couple entered 30 minutes after us, and they ate and got dessert before we were even able to order our own dessert.

Servers would act confused and make you seem invisible, avoiding eye contact and using their phones on the job, in plain sight. Seriously disappointed as I had better expectations for this restaurant.

We shared the lasagne con amore and a pan pizza. Both were fabulous! Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Our waitress Olivia was knowledgeable and delightful!

This might be the worst Italian food in the state, and the worst restaurant in Evanston. Although the lasagna was serviceable, everything else was greasy, dry, and underseasoned. Just look at that pool of oil in the “pesto” pasta… absolutely horrendous.

Very small room, awkward space. Well-put-together menu. The food was decent.

I’ve been missing Dave’s Italian since they moved from their location near Davis. When I found out they reopened, I immediately decided to visit! The place is way smaller, but I enjoyed their food and great service. #ItalianFood #DavesItalian

Dave’s new kitchen is a small cozy place, with delicious food! The server was very likable and helpful. Took his suggestion and ordered the ravioli with Rose sauce: amazing taste! Definitely recommend this sauce with whatever you’d like to eat. The bread was fresh! Nice wine. The food came out very fast! Be careful as this small restaurant so close to the campus may get filled quickly in busy hours.

Love the cosiness of the place and seem to have lots of return customers. It has a big selection of different combination of pasta and pizza, essentially any pasta can be made with any sauce. The portion was very generous. I tried the ceasar salad and it was good. The dressing is more garlicky than other places, but still good. The pasta was spinach pappardelle bolognese made with ground turkey. I also had side of sautéed spinach and meat ball.

The food is DELICIOUS! The staff is so friendly and don’t mind answering questions. The ONLY reason gave 4 stars for atmosphere is b/c it is small but very cute. I only come for work visits but will be back every visit and will be bringing anyone who’s traveling with me.

The restaurant has a sign that prides itself on HOMEMADE food. The ravioli is, the pasta is not. The food was poorly plated, my friend ordered a pesto dish where the entire plate was filled with soupy ravioli and runny pesto atop. I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca and it tasted like previously Frozen chicken breast, the breading was over cooked and the chicken was fine. The pasta tasted like it came from a box. Not worth 12$.

Our server was not dressed appropriately, a White tee with a tank top visible underneath, untucked, jeans and his Cellphone which he made notice of pulling out every second he wasn’t serving. My dish was uneaten and set on the table and didn’t confront why, my Friend was treating me and did not want me to complain. We asked for a check and he shoved it on our face. My Friend left a 2$ tip on a 38$ bill because asking for change seemed like a step unnecessary of taking.

No hassle, good food/dollar, good taste. I hope they stay around Noyes for many years to come.

I am revisiting this review in 2019 to reiterate my 5 star rating. The food is better than I remember. I love how the reds of the tomato sauce and the greens of the veggies are so bright and vibrant. That means that the stuff was prepared fresh and demand, and it did not sit around and oxidize.
