I had a great experience at Swen Chinese Restaurant, and it absolutely deserves recognition for both food quality and consistency. I ordered the General Tso’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Chicken Fried Rice, and every dish exceeded expectations.

The General Tso’s Chicken was a standout. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender inside, coated in a rich, balanced sauce that had just the right mix of sweetness, heat, and tang. It wasn’t overly greasy or drowned in sauce, which is something many places get wrong. This one was done right.

The Mongolian Beef was equally impressive. The beef was sliced thin and cooked tender, not chewy, and the flavor was bold without being overpowering. The sauce was savory and slightly sweet, complementing the beef well and pairing perfectly with rice.

The Chicken Fried Rice tied everything together. It was fresh, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor—not bland or dry like you often get from average takeout spots. You can tell it was made with attention, not rushed.

Portion sizes were generous, the food tasted fresh, and everything was prepared exactly how you want classic Chinese takeout to be. If you’re in Northport and want reliable, flavorful Chinese food, Seen Chinese Restaurant is an easy recommendation. I’ll definitely be ordering again and trying more items from their menu.

Nothing to complain about. We were seated quickly and got our food fast. Server even asked us if we wanted to-go drinks when we paid which is super nice.

Check your carry-out for accuracy. Got sweet n sour with just meat & 5 tiny PCs of pineapple. No peppers. Didn’t get egg rolls paid for ( 2nd time for this). Fried rice wasn’t fried & nothing but rice.

It was our first time here. It wasn’t busy at 11:30. They have lunch specials Monday through Friday. The paper menu has no description of the dishes on the menu. It’s typical Chinese fare. I ordered the cashew chicken with egg drop soup and fried rice. She ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The egg drop soup was good. The fried rice was a typical brown steamed rice with no vegetables in it. The egg roll wasn’t very good. We don’t know why. The sweet and sour chicken was just fried tempura chicken with a few pieces of pineapple chunks and a red sweet sauce on the side. There was nothing to make it sour like peppers or something. The cashew chicken that I ordered was covered in a brown sauce. There were plenty of cashews, water chestnuts, mushrooms, and napa cabbage? The chicken was hard to find because it was cut into little cube-like pieces beneath all of that brown sauce. Sadly, this dish could have used some color and taste from red or green peppers, broccoli, something…

Friendly service and the food was very good! The restaurant is pretty clean except the bathrooms need a little TLC. The Hot & Sour Soup, Fried Pot Stickers, and General Tso’s Chicken (unique sauce compared to other restaurants) were all very delicious!

Heard good things from a colleague about this place so we wanted to give it a try. My husband’s Mandarin chicken was OK but my combination plate (I forgot the name but it’s the one that had chicken, beef, and shrimp) was bland, just salty and have no other flavors at all. The food came out lukewarm but portions were generous though. We will not recommend this place as a good Chinese restaurant.
