Just stopped in for the first time and it was packed on a Saturday morning. Despite how busy it was the line was moving quickly. Everyone behind the counter was very friendly. Samples were fresh & delicious. I had a lot of questions because I have been looking for a specific pastry. They don’t carry it regularly but will make it to order. I was so excited for this. They really took the time to talk with me despite how busy everything was. This family run shop is fantastic and you will not be disappointed.

I ordered a cake for my son’s first birthday. Chocolate flavour with vanilla buttercream frosting. I sent a pic how i wanted it to look like.
So, it looked wonderful, prettier than the cake in the pic i sent them. Everyone loved how beautiful it turned out.
But the taste… i couldn’t be more disappointed. It was dry and hard, frosting was nothing like vanilla buttercream. Not a single one of my 45 guests ate it. And the cake was the only dessert, i was truly embarrassed.
I called them to give a feedback. No apology whatsoever. That’s the least you can do.
So disappointing.

We had an event at Fork it Foods for my 60th birthday ( look up my review of Fork It….I would highly recommend the place for catering or an on site party!)
Konrad’s supplied the desserts…. Oh my!
The selection was awesome and varied. There was something for everyone.
Being from Wisconsin I especially enjoyed the mini eclairs and cream puffs!

Highly highly recommend Konrad’s for special occasion cakes & of course everything else is delicious as well. Take a look at the cake they made for my mom’s 80th & my daughter’s graduation. They were fabulous! I’ve ordered 4 custom cakes in the past 3 years. Perfection & delicious every single time. Everyone raved about how these cakes r way tooooo pretty to cut. And many ppl wanted seconds. Even the fondant is yummy. Thank u Thea & the nice lady who does the decorating (name starts w/a B) u both went above & beyond!

From rich, elegant, delicious wedding and birthday cakes, thru different sweet pastries, cookies, to savory scones – this place has everything. Great coffee included.

Konrad’s created these beautiful cakes for our son’s Inside Out themed birthday party. They each had a different flavor inside. The designs were spot on to what we were hoping for and the cake was delicious! We will definitely be ordering custom cakes from them again!

The other day my grandkids came over and my granddaughter was a little down in the dumps it was about 3:15 and I thought maybe Konrad’s was still open and maybe a little sweet would cheer her up
So we headed over on our long journey of two blocks and thankfully they were open
Her eyes lit up when she saw the counter full of good looking sweets she didn’t know what to get till she said her eyes on a chocolate eclair
We picked up a few other items a brownie, a peanut butter bar and some rum balls
As we left all three of the ladies at the counter were so sweet and so caring and nice and they turned her frown upside down
I will say the eclair I have never seen that much Custard in one she devoured most of it and put a smile on her face
The Rum ball was something different but very good tasting
Of course the peanut butter bar is one of my favorites and was great
But I have to talk about the Browning too
When I was a kid growing up on the northwest side of Chicago there was a bakery called Thompson’s it was by Harlem and Irving and one of the best things I remember about being a kid was getting a bunch of those brownies coming home with a cold glass of milk and devouring one after the other there was nothing better
Well these brownies I would put right up there with Thompson’s
Konrad’s is such a small store but is packed with such great items certainly the best in the area around Huntley Lake in the hills or Algonquin or Crystal Lake in my opinion
