We stopped in here and the place was empty. We figured it was because of it being Sunday and things being slow. They have an area for live music and a bar attached to the restaurant side. There are coolers with dessert & imported drinks.
Our server was very sweet & kind to us. We put in our order and my kids had a dance off on the mini stage.
At first we were excited because we LOVE Cuban food and this seemed like a fun spot to eat as a family with a cafe side, restaurant/bar area & outdoor seating.
Preface : When we go to Little Havana I literally eat ropa vieja for 3 days straight. If I had to choose one type of food to eat solely for the rest of my life it’d be Cuban food.
We ordered chicken soup, a cuban and ropa vieja. The sandwiches were okay but the meat seemed dry. The chicken soup great but super salty. The ropa vieja was SO LOADED with salt that we mixed it with the beans and rice and it was still so salty. I like salt, but this was like drinking the ocean. We ordered a glass of water but when I took a sip, I realized the cup was dirty and stuff was floating in the bottom.
The rice seemed super fresh and was the best part of the meal.
I wanted to enjoy this place because Cuban food is my ultimate favorite. Hopefully things will improve. We will come back if that ever happens.

The Cuban sandwich wasn’t what we expected. The meat was a bit overcooked, however, the sandwich itself was decent. The bread was toasted well, good amount of condiments and deli meat plus cheese and pickles. Also, the sandwich came packed in a reused Freddy’s Steak burger bag. Don’t know how that came about but it would’ve been better if the pork (or beef if I’m not mistaken) hadn’t been overcooked and hardened.

I had to write a review because I wasn’t satisfied with how the meal was presented and that they did not follow any instructions. I ordered foo and it was delivered spilled all over the bag, the styrofoam tray was cracked and broken, the mango smoothie was distasteful. The beef and rice was so salty I couldn’t finish my food and the worst part was the empanadas. They forgot one of them and they had large potatoes in them with meat that was very distasteful. I struggled to eat any of it. The positive was that the portions are fair.

So thrilled to have found this restaurant. We recently moved to Ormond by the Sea from Miami and were missing the food. This Cuban owned restaurant hit the spot. The food was delicious. My husband and I both had the special of the day. I had the beef stew “carne con papas” with white rice, black beans and sweet fried plantains. My husband had the ribs with moros which are black beans cooked with the rice inside and tostones which are green plantains. We took home some chicken soup loaded with chicken and vegetables and some Cuban Bread. The couple who owns it are very attentive. The service was great. Looking forward to our next visit very soon. We will definately be regulars.

My munchies bought me to this place and order steak and onions ,rice and black beans with a salad. I guess I was just high ,the rice tasted ahumado(burnt) the beans were weak(flavorless) ,the salad , bland(no dressing)and put together on top of the meal. Ask the lady how we’re the beef empanadas?? She said delicious, they were dry ,cold ,but well seasoned. Just disappointed because I’ve eaten here before and this time ,they dropped the ball. Spend too much for a crappie meal ,that did take care of my high munchies though.

Ya’ll this IS Palm Coast’s best kept secret!!!

I happened upon this family-owned gem and had the BOMBBBB yellow rice with Oooeeee finger-lickin ribs, and plantain mix.

It was soooo good, I kid you not! I promise, you WILL thank me lata.

They close pretty early, 6pm during the week, and 5pm on Sunday with Saturday being a day of well deserved rest.

Shout out to Jacquelin, Head Chef… swear I can taste the love in that rice.
