The atmosphere is fun, though. There were large groups, and everyone was having a great time. The staff was excellent and they all worked well together.
Make sure you make reservations and bring cash since this place is a cash only
It was just us two, but this place is definitely designed for large groups.
The main reason for 3 stars is the food. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and shrimp mosca.
The spaghetti was pretty salty… it’s not that it tasted bad or anything. It was fine tasting, but it wasn’t the wow I was hoping for.
The shrimp mosca was pretty good, but for the price, it wasn’t anything spectacular.
We were both disappointed in the bread that came out. It is kind of heavy and plain. Although it would be better if they provided olive oil for dipping the bread in… then you could sprinkle salt, pepper and parmesan cheese in the olive oil… then the bread would be taken to another level.

This is a cash only establishment, which we knew, but if you’ve got a large group, make sure everyone knows it’s cash only. I do believe they have an ATM on site, but it would be smart to check ahead of time.
Now, my brother and I don’t drink alcohol, so our take on this place this is that they served a lot of alcohol. Which could explain why the food was salty, because if people are getting drunk, they need that extra pop of salt or flavor to enjoy the food.
I think if you’re going in a large group, drinking a lot, and want a celebration spot, then this place is great for that.
If you’re looking for a quiet, great Italian restaurant but don’t drink, then I wouldn’t recommend this place.
I also believe it’s worth trying once to see if you like it, because the staff is great as they excel at serving large groups.
We’re from Minnesota, so we won’t be coming back, but if we had a large group I’d probably try it again, to see if I have a different experience.
Otherwise… thank you to Moscas and how they took care of us.
The service is incredible, the weight or the food to be prepared may seem long, but when you know that your meal is being prepared especially for you, time doesn’t matter.
If you need video proof, go watch season 1 of somebody feed Phil and check out the Mosca’s segment. It’s not only that good, but better in real time.
By the way, it’s cash only, but there’s an ATM machine inside I believe.
Oyster Mosca was good, but that was it.
The meatballs didn’t have great flavor, and although the pasta was delicious, there is nothing special about it or the sauce.
The sausage and potato was just outright bad. Chicken Cacciatore was a lot of bones for some chicken of mediocre flavor.
I get that it’s a funky little place outside of the city, but I would advise anyone from going out of their way to make the trip here. $500 later felt like a serious rip off for the quality of food and wine.
