Green Dragon Inn was an absolute EXPERIENCE, not just a meal. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was immersive, themed, and spotless. Even the restrooms were on-theme, super clean, and the women’s room was stocked with actual amenities which was such a thoughtful, classy touch.
Our server, Alex, was truly amazing. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the food, drinks, and games, and had that perfect balance of being friendly and attentive without ever feeling forced or fake. She checked on us just the right amount and made the whole experience even better.
The food was OUTSTANDING. Everything came out with perfect timing, beautifully done, and absolutely delicious. We were so impressed that we asked Alex to pass our compliments to the cook, and she told us he’s the kitchen manager… which makes total sense, because wow, he nailed it. You can tell there’s real care and skill coming out of that kitchen.
Between the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the little details, this was an all-around incredible night. We’ll 100% be back.

The Green Dragon Inn in Akron, Ohio is a true five-star experience. I would come here every single day if I could. From the moment you step inside, everything—the interior, the menu, even the bathroom—feels cohesive, intentional, and incredibly well thought out.
They have nearly 800 board games available to play for free while you’re there, which alone is impressive. What stood out even more was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. One staff member even brought over different board and card games for us to try, which made the experience feel extra special and fun.
We only stopped in for a quick snack before heading to the Akron Art Museum, but I really wish we’d had more time (and a bigger appetite) to stay longer. The pretzel sticks were wonderful—thin and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with plenty of cheese for all five sticks (there’s also an option for three). We also ordered drinks: both beers were excellent, and my matcha drink was delicious. Everything was reasonably priced.
The menu itself deserves a mention. It changes seasonally, and they told us that no recipe is ever truly repeated. Definitely look at the menu photos—the level of detail is impressive, right down to the texture of the paper. It’s clear how much thought goes into every aspect of this place.
If you’re in Akron, do not skip The Green Dragon Inn. You won’t regret it. It’s located upstairs once you enter the building, so don’t let the outside fool you—this place is something special.

This place is really impressive. It truly amazes me. Although I haven’t tried the food, I can only rate it 5 stars because their drinks were outstanding. I love the vibe, and the staff was excellent. I will definitely come back.

If I could give the atmosphere 17 stars, I would. The Green Dragon Inn is fantastic! We went for the first time today and couldn’t have had better food or service. Sierra was super helpful with recommendations on drinks and food choices. The other staff was helpful as well with info on their D&D room and board game selection. This will become a regular date night spot for sure!

This place was a simply incredible find. They’re partnered to a few local game and card shops, so they have great recommendations across the board. You’ll immediately see how much care was put into the design of this place with the decor. The selection of games was massive and the food was an excellent complement. I took one bite of the grilled cheese and said “whoa…”. Marmalade really makes difference. I’m excited for subsequent visits because the staff were very friendly. Logan was a really cool guy that made to chat even as the place got progressively busier. The drink he recommended was actually one of his design, so it was great seeing that the staff construct the menus. Definitely felt like they cared about this place a whole lot and I’m excited to return!

This place is super cool! My husband and I came here for a date night, and we loved the medieval themes (it gave us serious Lord of the Rings vibes). The board game selection is great (though some pieces were missing in one game we checked out). Food and drink was also well themed! They go all out in sticking to the theme with food and drink names – my husband got the Green Dragon cocktail, which is served literally on fire. Sandwiches were great – I got the Forager as a tasty vegetarian option. Service was slow at times but our waiter was super nice and covered one of our drinks when it took too long.

Food was good! Vibes were cool. The waitress we had at first was pretty bad tho. We had to wait a while for service (this was not the problem) she was very short with us and kind of rude. (Slamed our water on the table) After getting our order and bring us napkins we never saw her again. We had to go up to the bar to get another drink and then had to go back to the bar for boxs and to get the check. Bartender was nice and helpful.

I have to split the difference because we had completely two different experiences here. We went here the first time with some friends before going to the Akron theater. The gentleman that helped us was so enthusiastic about the place it was hard to not be enthusiastic ourselves. He explained everything and even how the menus were designed. The food was great!! We each got the special drinks and appetizers. He checked on us regularly. We had a blast. Plus we were pleasantly surprised with our bill! We were so excited to share this with others. So a few weeks later my daughter wanted to go for her birthday. We were there March 1st. My daughter and I were excited to show this place to the rest of our family really talking it up. Our waiter was soooo grumpy! It just seemed like he was annoyed with us. But in general as we observed, he just didn’t seem to be having fun at all with anyone. Appetizers were ok, the pretzels were still great, the baked Brie and mushrooms were skimpier than the time before. We had like 8 chips to share amongst the 4 of us for the brie. The mushrooms were really small. Then the other Cuban which was huge and delicious I recommended and they were also super skimpy like not even filling the bread to the end. Each half had at least over an inch or two of just bread at the end. We changed our minds about dessert and decided to be spontaneous and go somewhere just for dessert. Dumb part was it seemed like maybe we were there at a shift change and the lady who was going to take over our table seemed super nice and another gentleman had asked if we wanted refills on our drinks when we didn’t see the other guy anymore. So I wonder if things would have been nice if we had them instead? And that we just happened to be there when our guy was having a bad day? But it really was a bummer. I don’t think that I will be able to convince my family to go back. I feel like my daughter and I would be willing as it was so great the first time. I’ll just post pics of the first time.

Are you kidding me?! This is by far the COOLEST restaurant I’ve ever been to! Lord of the Rings inspired, medieval decor, amazing food, unique and fun cocktails and mocktails and over 850 board games! This is everything I want in a place and more. Plus the service is AWESOME. Logan was our server and he made the experience even better. He was super knowledgeable, attentive and fun! My fiance and I really enjoyed ourselves! We live out towards Pittsburgh but this will most definitely be a stop every single time we’re out this way.
