I’m a 7th generation Texan, and one of a small handful of folks who can legitimately say I grew up in Luckenbach, Texas. Further, both of my grandmother’s were renown world class cooks. That all being said, . . . this place’s ROCKS!! I haven’t had mouth watering BBQ brisket like this since I arrived in California. The only thing missing was some fresh white (or sourdough) bread to slather up the sauces. The baked beans were pretty seasoned. The green beans were perfect in every way. The Drunken chicken Quesadilla really surprised me. It was not your traditional finger food that I expected. It was much better than I could have imagined! We also had the Spinich & Artichoke dip, and we’re happy to find not only was it delicious, but the chips it came with were served warm! To top it all off, the service was spectacular!! Chuck even crafted me some traditional Texas sweet tea as good as Bill Miller himself would have made. Great atmosphere too!! We will definitely be back to try more of these deliciousnesses!!

Tucked away in a corner next to the Don Sal building this is a hidden gem. Western theme decor, line dancing and great food. Gigantic Pretzel with cheese sauce and mustard for dipping, spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips for appetizers. I had a loaded baked potato with brisket, my son had a burger. Everything was delicious! Look forward to making a return visit to try one of the many other menu options.

I was denied re-entry a during my most recent visit despite having a valid wristband. When I asked why, security couldn’t give me a straight answer. Eventually, they pivoted to accusing me of misconduct and harassment.
This is a lie. If I had harassed anyone, I would have been removed immediately. Instead, I was allowed to finish my drink and leave on my own terms earlier that night. Staff only ‘remembered’ this alleged behavior two hours later when I returned to know why.
It’s clear the staff fabricated a serious accusation to justify being unprofessional. Using ‘harassment’ as a fake excuse is a massive liability to both the customer and the business. I invite management to review the security footage from my entire visit. You will see a quiet customer and zero misconduct. I won’t support a business that throws around life-ruining labels because the staff is too unprofessional to do their jobs. (December 12-14) (December 28th)

If you enjoy line dancing or have ever wanted to learn this is the spot! They have 2 free line dance lessons each night if you’re dining in. Very friendly environment. You’re not too young or too old, there are so many friendly line dancing and two step regulars here you’ll make friends quickly. The staff deserves recognition too, my friends and I especially love the waitress Sheanna. She’s on top of it every time even when it’s busy and actually remembers the guests, learns their names and even remembers their previous orders and what they liked or didn’t like. Instead of being superficial like most people in customer service she really puts in the effort to make drinking or dining at Buckle and Boots a more genuine experience that makes you want to keep coming and supporting the business.
While you’re there definitely try the fried pickles, spinach and artichoke dip and fried cheesecake.

Vanessa was a great waitress. Amazing bbq!! I had the ribs and my wife had the tri tip, both had an amazing mesquite flavor that is very unique and flavorful. The cornbread is moist and just crumbles in your mouth, one of the best cornbreads I have ever had! All around one of the best places for BBQ in all of the AV !! The outside patio is also a nice place with a nice view to the BLVD. They also have a nice stage with live country music .

Felt like slipping into a pair of comfortable….
Seriously, it has been decades since I have been into a country bar so this was a living memory of The Crazy Horse and Denim & Diamonds for me. It was like coming home.
The food was really good. Not Crazy Horse amazing, but close. Try the pretzel even if you are not super hungry. Its worth it.
The staff were pleasant, quick and answered questions about drinks honestly.
My only complaint was the line dance instructor. She was too fast and too focused on her friends and regulars.
A few of my group attempted to learn the dance and got lost, but the instructor was too busy with the front rows to check on the back.
I suggest starting with an easy dance first as a warm up then jumping into the main lesson. Its the way it was done back in the stone age 90s.
When we are in the area we plan to frequent this place, after we blow the dust off our lace up ropers, hats and other stuff that is now “vintage”.
