My husband and I love coming to Sonny’s for breakfast. We love the food, everyone is polite, Sonny is just great, what a personality!! Their Western Omelet is the best omelet we’ve ever had!!

I visited this place recently and was looking forward to a good experience. However, when we first walked in and greeted the host with a ‘hi’, I was a bit surprised that she didn’t respond, just ignored and simply walked away. It felt a little unwelcoming but another server greeted and served us very nicely.
But unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing again. When the food arrived, the pancakes were burnt, the hash browns were also burnt, and the omelet—advertised as being made with four eggs—was paper-thin and clearly not with 4 eggs. The omelet’s ingredients were too salty with paper thin egg cover(?).
Everyone seemed to be local grandpas — they greeted each other and chatted at their bar. A man at the bar, possibly the owner or the cook, was casually chatting with the customers as well.
And when the man later came to our table and asked if the food was okay, he confidently said that the food was cooked that way because the customers wanted it well done, and that he said he knew how it was cooked before sending it out. At that point, we had nothing else to say.
Well done/crispy is not BURNT!

Visiting from Arkansas to tour the Watchtower headquarters, we found this quaint eatery spot. Smaller dining area, which was very relaxed and cozy. The owner Sonny even goes around to talk with customers. The food was absolutely magnificent. Huge portions, perfectly seasoned. No complaints at all. Would definitely come back if we ever travel here again!

First time I’ve been here and it was arguably the best breakfast I’ve had in CT. Small old school atmosphere with ginormous pancakes that were amazing. Eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly to what I asked for! Service was very friendly and made sure to keep checking even though it was fairly busy. Will definitely be making the 45 minute drive to come back here!

Great breakfast/lunch spot with hugh portions of food. I didn’t expect to order 2 pancakes, and have them be soo big. I had to share them as I definitely couldn’t finish them on my own. I actually didn’t even finish them, and I shared them. The omelet i got had the option to have grits with it instead of home fries. The eggs Benedict was really good as well. This place is packed and had to wait a bit, but I can see why. It is worth the wait. It is not a large establishment, so seating is limited. We will try lunch options next time we are back.

Who says more can’t cost less?! Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Sonny Side Up is a local gem. The owner is the cook, and he takes pride in what he does. He comes out to make sure everyone is happy and the food is prepared to your liking. Highly recommend.

Great place for breakfast. Sonny comes out to chat with the customers. He cares and it shows. When we left all the tables were occupied. We ordered a variety of items and everything was very good. Portions are generous. We’ll be back.

What a charmer. Griddle cook comes out and chats to everyone. Talks about times from 40 years past. Filling breakfast to say the least. Plan to take some home or be very hungry. REAL home fries!!!! Sausage and eggs were fantastic.
