I went to Goog Thai Cook Shop on Monday, and the food was very authentic—super close to real Thai flavors ✨. The papaya salad was really good and tasted just like the papaya salad you’d get from a small street food cart in Thailand . One of my favorite dishes was the Isaan sausage—slightly tangy and eaten together with the fresh vegetables on the side, it was excellent . The homemade warm rice ball dessert with coconut cream was also delicious and a perfect way to end the meal . I also received great service from the energetic and friendly staff . Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for authentic Thai food!

Delicious dishes – massaman curry beef, white lotus soup. Portion size was small – almost made me do a 4* but it’s more like NYC normal. Friendly staff. Ate outside in front and service was busy and we received a bit less attention but easy enough to flag them down. Overall would give a solid recommendation to go. Fun bathroom photos too

Incredible selection of authentic and traditional Thai food. Even more immaculate service, our waiter was accommodating and very hospitable. We came here for birthday dinner celebration and we enjoyed the food very much. Definitely get their sum tom (papaya salad), three flavored fish, and Thai sashimi. The mock-tails were also delicious and refreshingly, highly recommend the cranberry sangria. Overall a delightful experience from the food to the hospitality of our waiter. We anticipate to visit again in the near future!

Wow this spot exceeded all expectations. Came here with 3 friends (2 of us NYC locals, 2 out of town) for dinner on a recommendation, and we were blown away. The flavors were complex but not overly done, and there were options ranging from classic Thai street food to elevated and unique dishes. All for a reasonable price! And with great vegetarian options. Will definitely be going back whenever we’re in Red Hook.

Had dinner 6/1/25 and food was a 4.5 since I wanted something I couldn’t get. Not their fault. What I did offer was food but the appetizer wings weren’t very meaty. The Thai railroad fried rice with shrimp was delicious! They have great drink specials for the summer. I loved the searing out back and it was a little oasis to eat dinner. Really enjoyed it and I will be back!

This place has so many options to choose from, and I loved how the menu highlights dishes from different regions of Thailand. Super cool way to explore Thai food! They also have a beautiful backyard seating area. Sadly it rained today but I’m definitely coming back to try more!

Incredibly delicious! The pork larb was a highlight for me. The toasted roasted rice was an amazing touch.
The service was also very warm and accommodating.
Will definitely come back! Details were not missed, and the quality was top-notch.
10 out of 10. Thank you!

Coming off a 3 week trip to Thailand, I was depressed that I’d never find food that comes close to the flavors and freshness we experienced there. After a few futile attempts at finding something “close,” we came to Goog with mid expectations. But we were blown away! We had the roti massaman, the khao soi, and the branzino. The roti was sooo good!! The massaman was also amazing, I’m looking forward to trying their chicken massaman on a future visit. While in Thailand we had some Michelin level khao soi, but Goog was pretty much spot on flavor wise!!! We were so happy to find a place so close to home that hits our curry cravings. Finally, the fish. Wow. The flavors were so so good. We washed it down with a Chang, which is a hard beer to find in the states!!! Looking forward to future visits here!!!

Random stop and was amazed as to how good it was. Cant believe no one else was here. I understand it is a week day (thursday) and i do not know how it gets Fri/Sat/Sun but this spot should be full of patrons. Authentic Regional Thai flavors. Great service. Amazing experience. Thank you

First off, I dislike writing bad reviews but my experience at Goog was terrible, I really hope management reads this. Part of it was probably due to the fact that it became busy a little after we arrived but that shouldn’t be an excuse – you should plan for situations like this. Plain and simple, you should bring out all main dishes together, especially in a group. There were 4 of us and the first two main dishes came out initially followed by the third dish 10 minutes later. My dish never arrived after 45 minutes and I was starving. Thankfully I got to eat a bit of everyone else’s food but even their food got cold since they were waiting for mine. When I asked just to cancel my dish after the 45 minutes, they said it was ready to come but they’d still have to charge me (which is fine) and they could box it for me.. Everyone else finished their food by this point and I just wanted to get out. Of course I don’t want to eat by myself or bring it home. I couldn’t even ask for the check because no one was around. I went up to the main hostess (I believe) and I can tell she was overwhelmed so I do apologize for the craziness of having an influx of people. My message to you management is to create some sort of buffer before seating people. If you have only so many cooks or staff, you know people are going to be waiting for a while for their food. It’s unreasonable to put a lack of organization onto your customers. The food was decent (from what I tried from others plates) since I don’t want to just state the negative. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone that’s coming during some sort of typical meal time, maybe you’ll have better luck if there’s one or two other parties.
