First off, talk about a Diamond in the rough! This place is a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip. We had Elaine as a server and she was phenomenal. This food will blow your mind. Everything from start to finish was homemade. That including the bread they brought to the table, WARM! I went there looking for a non-breaded fish.
They had nine choices. All homemade! All fabulous! I ordered the Thai coconut. My husband ordered the bourbon. We’ve never been here before but we will be back. Did I mention they have an all you can eat salad bar? There were so many topping choices. Something for everyone. I haven’t been this impressed with a restaurant in a while! Thank you Elaine for making this visit amazing. We will be back! 20 out of 10 highly highly recommends!

Went with a group of 8, 1 person liked his fish, 7 of us did not, undercooked, running with water on the platter. Salad bar was good, bread was excellent. I’ve had the burger there before and it was good, my wife’s old fashioned was excellent. The fish was so bad that it brought this review. Ok place just don’t get any type of Friday fish fry. Costly as well! They took my meal off so it was $233 for 7 people with a few drinks involved. They also tell you up front its going to be a half hour wait for fish because its all cooked to order. The wait was real, the cooked to order part (at least for a few of us) was not! Try the burger, the prime, the ribs……beware the fish!

Was looking for a new place for dinner on a Friday night. After searching around the Milwaukee area I started checking the suburbs and came across The Silvernail Inn. in Waukesha. We arrived early to enjoy a few cocktails before dinner. They have a nice size bar, great for pre dinner cocktails or catching a sporting event on TV. The place was packed being prime time on a Friday night. We were able to get 2 seats at a small table in the bar area. Bartenders were professional and polite. Drinks were prepared well and reasonably priced. When it was time to dine, we were led to our table in one of two dining areas. The menu features steaks, fish, and sandwiches. They also serve prime rib but may only be on certain days of the week. We were greeted by our server Tammy. We told her it was our first time visiting the restaurant and she told us all about the menu and the fish fry options. She also pointed out the salad bar. Yes! SALAD BAR!! All meals included unlimited trips to the salad bar although I believe if you order a sandwich you are only allowed one trip. We chose the Souvlaki appetizer to start. It was a nice sized pita with delicious chunks of perfectly grilled pork garnished with onions, feta cheese, banana peppers, Pepperoncini’s, Kalamata olives, and cherry peppers. We ate ever last bite. We then took a trip to the salad bar which would not be considered huge but had everything needed to build a great salad. They also had pickled items like beets, and different peppers to add to your salad. After our salads Tammy delivered our soups (clam chowder and chicken dumpling) both were piping hot and tasted great. For our entree’s we both chose prime rib. A petite cut and a king cut. Ordered rare, both were cooked perfect and were well seasoned and amazingly tender. Au jus was served on the side. My wife asked for blue cheese on her petite cut. This was the only negative to the entire meal because a bit too much cheese was added for the size cut ordered. but the excess cheese was easily removed to her liking. We had garlic mashed potatoes and French fries for sides. Both were what you would expect. Service was great. Tammy kept us apprised of how our meal was progressing in the very busy dining room. The wait was reasonable for the amount of people being served. Dirty plates never sat for long on our table as every staff member who passed by helped clearing dirty dishes. We did not have room for dessert but there were several options. Pricing was right in line for the quality and quantity of food. We will certainly return in the future.

In feel as though I just threw $130 into the fire. Totally disappointed in what I had hoped to be a nice anniversary dinner for my husband and I. Our server was the best part of the experience. The steaks however were way overpriced for terrible quality. Tough, poorly seasoned sirloin and ribeyes. Salad bar was good, bread was good. Honestly could have and have had wayyyy better steaks and sides at Texas Roadhouse. Won’t be back.

Definitely a diamond in the rough! Drinks at the bar were great! Bartender was very nice and attentive, but not in your face. We ate in the dining room with booths, salad bar had plenty of toppings and sides to choose from. Round loaf of bread was warm and tasty. Soups were delicious! But the big winner was the prime rib, right up there as one of the best we have had and we have had many in our 70 years of life. So tender, juicy, flavor was mouth watering! I highly recommend! Service was also excellent!

Once you enter the Silvernail Inn, you will be pleasantly surprised. It has several big screens within the bar area that are easy to see from nearly every angle. The music is hip and not the newest garbage but a throwback to the golden age of which we can all appreciate. The menu may confuse you like it did to me, but I assure you that the 26 dollar Swordfish is probably one of the best I have ever had. I never eat all of my soup, but I did today! The fresh made full loaf of bread is to die for. Elaine was a helpful and super pleasant barkeep. Eat here and you WILL BE SATISFIED. I am not easily impressed…today I have been…positively so!

What a hidden GEM!! The exterior needs some refreshing, but don’t let it stop you from stopping in! The food is absolutely INCREDIBLE! Living in the Loop in Chicago now, I miss home and a good ‘ole Wisconsin salad bar and Prime Rib. We often frequent Wisconsin Supper Clubs (my goal is to visit them all!), but why isn’t this little hidden gem on the list? It should be! The filet with grilled shrimp was delectable and my Prime Rib was one of the best I’ve ever had. The salad bar was just like I remember as a kid and the fresh bread is to die for! I was even able to get a gluten free French Onion Soup!! Our server, Kerri was knowledgeable of the menu and made recommendations for dietary restrictions. Overall, we had an incredible meal and experience and will be back again. (Not something we often do with the quest of over 250 Supper Clubs to visit!)

Very nice restaurant. Great salad bar. Fish fry was pretty good but the batter is a little thick for my taste so I think next time I would try the baked fish. The wife had a burger and she said it was very good. French fries were excellent. Looks like they have a nice set up for some buffet. lunch? Sunday brunch? I will have to look into that. Also a pretty good looking bar. I look forward to coming back.
