5/13 dinner: we enjoyed our dinner here at Bailey’s. I had broiled flounder, cabbage and pinto beans; my spouse had clam strips, coleslaw and mac-n-cheese… all were delicious! We ordered the ‘large’ portions. Our server was very nice. She explained how the cabbage and pinto beans were prepared and told me which dishes could be broiled. We would definitely recommend this local restaurant if you are in the area. PS: the board displayed the sides that were available-several sides were already sold out when we arrived.

Hidden gem. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. We got the fried mushrooms, flounder, steak, and hamburger steak and we enjoyed it all.

If you’re into small town, hole in the wall dives, this is your spot! Open only during lunch and dinner hours, you definitely want to show up a little early as it’s a local hit and will/does fill up quickly and does sell out! Wife and I split the seafood platter and still needed a box to go! The various seafood all had their own batter and seasoning so the flavor was always unique! The server and staff were super friendly and full of that southern charm! Stop on by and treat yourself to some great food and a great time!

When I was told about this place I was really looking forward to an amazing seafood dinner.
That probably enhanced my disappointment.

The setting reminded me of a couple of places back home. The food did not.

The hush puppies were good.
I had a catfish and my wife had flounder. We tasted each other’s food and couldn’t tell the difference. Honestly they both reminded me of some farm raised tilapia I had at a place in Tampa. Both were soft and did not have much taste.
There was really no flavor to the breading either.

I had sweet tea with my food and it had that dirty taste to it like you get if you’ve ever been to a piece of moldy bread.

I was going to change out my drink but once we got our food we didn’t see our server again until it was time to go.

Out of the way town, out of this world flavor. Stopped on my drive from ATL to CLT, and couldn’t be happier I did. Down home fried chicken tenders with gravy, amazing onion rings. Giant glasses of tea, friendly and folksy staff.

All of the above… nice family friendly and wait staff is great

7/9/2025 – did some remodeling and added a sitting bar to eat at. Food is still great.

11/18/2025 it must be good..it was crowded but we didn’t have to wait long. Service is always great. I always get the Grilled Salmon.. most delicious. Can’t wait for our next visit.

Great place for a meat and three lunch for a very reasonable price. Be sure to get there early or they will run out of the good stuff. Highly recommend the chicken livers and all of their sides are winners.
