Seen a good review of this place on FB. I regularly travel past here so I thought I would stop in and find out for myself. Let me just say it’s worth the time to search this place out if you travel between Imboden AR and Jonesboro AR. It’s in Portia AR (close to Imboden), population just over 400, and is real easy to drive right past it on that 4 lane highway! Good things come in small packages/towns for sure!
Friendly welcome when I walked in the door. Madison was my waitress. She’s a chatty kathy for sure but only if you chat her up. She done a great job. I ordered the Brisket Plate for 15.00. It came with three side. I had fries, BBQ beans and coleslaw. I was really impressed with the amount of meat I received for the money, 3.5 hearty slices. The sides weren’t the usual small portions either. The beans and slaw came in a medium sized plastic container, and there were plenty of fries as well.
Highly recommend you stop in and give it a try. You don’t get this much food for the money in very many places anymore……

The only reason this was not 5 stars is the chicken plate, it’s not just a BBQ chicken, it’s like a jerked rub and my husband was blindsided by it, he can’t do heavy spice like that and he was not a fan. However, the ribs, coleslaw, potato salad and chocolate shake we’re on point and delicious! Also the waitresses were super friendly and keep us in refills and kept checking diligently.

Food was cold no flavor! It was dry and the Mac and cheese looked two days old it was orangish brown looking. The server dropped a drink on the floor and left it there for about 20 min until someone else came by and mopped it up because it was running across the restaurant. My husband got up and picked the cup up for her. It was my first and last time WILL NOT BE BACK! Watched the server grab the silver by the tops when wrapping them and also dropped some on the floor picked it up put them in the sleeve and continued like nothing happened. Um no thank you I am glad that everything was dirty when we ate there and had to use plastic.

Very bad, I asked if they had jumbo BBQs they said yes, it turns out a jumbo is on a regular bun with meat piled so high you have to take part of it off to get it in your mouth. Then you have meat with no bun. If they’re going to say jumbo they need to get big buns. The coleslaw had so much Mayo in it that’s all you could taste The meat was cold and greasy. Bad mistake for supper..

I had to pick small bones out of my pulled pork and the nachos were obviously microwaved cuz they were melted to the styrofoam plate. The waitress was an amazing young lady and that’s why I paid with no fuss and tipped her. I will NOT be back.

We have eaten there twice and both times the food was delicious. Fish had no black and was well done, just like we wanted. Slaw, and baked beans were very tasty, hush puppies and fries were fresh and hot. Highly recommend. Bar b que sandwich I got last week was just as good.

Food is absolutely wonderful!! Driving through town with the family and saw this place just had to stop glad we did service was top notch and the prices were very reasonable Morgan was our waitress and she was so nice definitely stopping on our way back.

This was a disappointment. The meat was dry, tough and crunchy like it was the last of lunch time scraped out of the bottom of the pan. I hate to give bad reviews like this but when it’s this bad I have to say something. I couldn’t eat half of it. The coleslaw wasn’t to my taste but the other people ate it so it must have been ok. I did enjoy the beans and the bbq sauce.

As somebody who lives in a city where prices are absolutely through the roof, I found it nice to be able to have dinner with my family for under 30 bucks. The barbecue was amazing. It was fresh and hot and undeniably the best fried pies ever.

Great service, good food. That was the first time I’ve ever had nachos made with American cheese slices. I didn’t hate them. Their barbecue sauce is what Willis was talkin’bout!
