The service was great as well. They’re attentive and really nice.
Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely be stopping by again!
The chef was really very accommodating, and very kind even when we had to drop a couple of people off the reservation at the last minute – they were still so accommodating. It was quiet and the food, as always, is outstanding. I really don’t know why this restaurant is not mobbed.- ALWAYS!!
It’s a neighborhood area restaurant, it’s adorable. The food has always been outstanding, ever every time I have visited! I mean honestly, I don’t mind paying money for food when I can leave the restaurant and know that I have eaten a really, really great meal.
Do yourself a favor, stop by and show them some love – the food is poetry. The service is always attentive and friendly. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Chef, for making our family birthday outing, memorable❤️

My only issue was the service. Our server sat us and gave us menus. Then returned with water and oil with no bread. He then proceeded to sit at another table of 6 for about 15 min without even looking up or checking to see what was going on ( I assume it was friends of his). Another waiter had to come by and ask if we’d ordered and brought us bread. He noticed our server was in his own world at that table and took our order himself. Our server eventually came back with the food.
Although we thoroughly enjoyed the food, being ignored by our server basically ruined our outing experience. He’s lucky I didn’t have time to do a “custom tip” option due to our rush to catch a late movie.
We had the filet mignon with bacon wrapped shrimp and the romano crusted chicken with shrimp alejandra (highly recommended by reviews and server). We felt both were fair dishes although somewhat bland. Nothing exceptionally memorable here, but not bad. Average with above average pricing…
The real turn off here is the service (as mentioned in many other reviews). Our server was nice enough, but clearly had no formal training on how to serve at an upscale restaurant. She consistently reached across to serve food, provide utensils and refill drinks. She would ask of we needed anything when coming to the table. Twice we had to ask for drink refills. One time, she stopped to clear the table next to us (and shook the food off the cloth to place it back on the table) before refilling the drinks.
Lastly, (and the most disappointing) she came to collect payment with the handheld POS. She ran the card and stood over us as I filled out the tip portion. Literally, right next to me looking over my shoulder. Completely inappropriate.
Owners/managers take note. You have been given plenty of feedback over the past 6 months regarding your lacking service.
When couples spend $150 to eat out, they are looking at the total experience. Food, atmosphere and service. Feedback provided consistently reflects that service is the weakest link here. Invest in your people so they may provide the level of service that is consistent with the upscale image you are attempting to portray. The service provided tonight would have been expected at casual atmosphere such as a pizza parlor.
When you’re asking for a minimum of $50 tip (20% lowest recommended option) to serve a table of 4, service expectations tend to be higher than when dining at Pizza Hut.
Unfortunately, management has not set the standard for service here which has resulted in numerous poor reviews and fewer repeat customers.
Parking is not a problem and I love that.
We didn’t have a reservation and it was no problem, there were ya les available.
The staff is atto and they know very well their menu!
About the food, wow! It was terrific! From the bread to the main dish. I ordered Shrimp Alejandra and I was in love from the first bite, the shrimp has a light batter and it’s so crispy, the pasta has a pesto sauce that is to die for!
Wine selection is great as well!
Definitely Pesto is a little gem in the heart of Olmos Park.
My only observation is the bathroom, it could be better 🙂
