We are an organic bakery and pizza shop, offering naturally leavened dough using regional and sustainably grown grains. We bake our breads and pastries fresh daily after a long, slow overnight cold fermentation to develop flavor and improve nutrition. We serve organic espresso by Canyon Coffee. We are open for breakfast every day at 7am and continue with lunch & dinner from 11-8pm.

I have been coming to Nana’s since they opened. Great selection of creative dishes, especially the vegetarian options. They have the best bread in Mystic and will slice it for you. Their rotisserie chicken dinner is a great value. The Team Members are some of the most personable service people in the area. Mystic has several hospitable dining establishments, but Nana’s is the only one that also fills the role of a “Third Space”.

Great service and great menu. The caprese salad was truly a delightful culinary experience. The fresh ingredients were perfectly combined, offering a wonderful medley of flavors. Its vibrant presentation was visually appealing, making it even more enjoyable.

Just a heads-up: this review is based entirely on personal taste — I know lots of folks love Nana’s, and I really wanted to be one of them.
Nana’s Bakery & Pizza in Mystic is super cute — warm, minimal decor with just the right touch of rustic charm. It’s a small space inside, and since the weather wasn’t playing nice, the outdoor seating wasn’t an option during our visit. Inside, it felt a bit cramped, especially with folks ordering and picking up crowding around the few available tables. I can totally see it being a more relaxed and comfortable spot on a sunny day.
Service was friendly but a bit slow — it seemed like the person working the register was still getting familiar with the menu. Not a big deal, but worth noting if you’re in a rush.
We ordered the Margherita pizza with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, olive oil, and basil — and added Seacoast Mushrooms. The sourdough crust was beautifully charred and had a nice crunch, but for us, the flavor of the crust overpowered everything else. The pizza leaned a bit dry, and overall just didn’t quite hit the mark for our taste.
On a more positive note — the bread looked incredible, and the rotisserie chickens turning behind the counter were seriously tempting (even though I’m a pescatarian these days). If I find myself back in the area, I’d be interested in coming by for breakfast or trying one of their salads at lunch.
Nana’s is clearly thoughtful about their ingredients and process, with a focus on organic sourdough, fermentation, and local sourcing. It just wasn’t quite the right fit for me this time.

I am so glad I heard about this place from social media and popped on over while we were visiting Mystic. It was delicious. The rose pistachio matcha latte was so creamy and not overly sweet. You could honestly pick any breakfast sandwich and be satisfied, but I absolutely loved the hash brown one. The doughnuts are also a must because they fry them fresh to order!!! We will definitely be coming back.

The views are nice, if you like pizza with an abundance of sour dough this is the place. Crust Would’ve been good with a dipping side of butter or some other topping that would go nice with toast. Pizza however took a solid hour and 10 min to get to us. I was really disappointed. They had given us some donuts on the house to rectify the situation which was thoughtful but the chocolate glazed was not enjoyable. The cinnamon sugar however I actually really enjoyed.

Visited Nana’s twice to check out their breakfast and lunch offerings. Loved them for lunch – I got the tomato sandwich with bacon and my partner got a burger. We loved our choices. The BLT was flavorful and filling, best tomato I’ve had all season. My partner’s burger was delicious as well, and a lot bigger than we expected. I also got the summer berry hojicha which was amazing – it’s so difficult to find hojicha in this area and to have it done well was a pleasant surprise.
The cinnamon buns are to die for – absolute must if you go!
For breakfast, I wasn’t the biggest fan. I got the hashbrown sandwich and it was pretty flavorless. The hashbrown fell apart in the sandwich, and it didn’t taste like anything had any flavor. The only positive part was the bun – super light and airy. My partner got the breakfast burrito and again, little to no flavor. It was just spicy. We also got the nut latte, which was fine, but didn’t stand out much.
I’d go back to try more of their pastry items and drinks, but would likely skip on breakfast again. The service was amazing though – super friendly and sweet staff. The inside was clean and we found a seat even though both days we went were pretty busy. I have dreams about that cinnamon buns too.
Overall glad I checked it out and I’ll be back!

The tiramisu latte is SO good! The specialty coffees are the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. This is a great spot for breakfast and coffee. I’m a big fan of the mushroom & egg toast. I was also pleasently surprised to find bone broth on the menu!! The coffee is ready quickly, but the food takes a little bit, so I recommend planning accordingly. It is a small place, but there is seating inside!

We only had time to try Nana’s for breakfast, but it was outstanding. The hashbrown breakfast sandwich was perfection – the italian roll bun was light enough to easily bite through but substantial enough to support the hearty sandwich, egg was perfect, hashbrown was crispy and flavorful, and the pickled onions helped balance the richness of the sandwich. The freshly fried donuts are likewise perfect – light and airy with a slight chewyness. Loved the lemon sugar and miso caramel. The staff was warm and friendly, and outdoor seating was charming (and not buggy at all!). Be prepared for a wait, especially on weekend mornings (though it is worth it). Highly recommend!

Cute quirky place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We had dinner there. We started with risotto balls which were crispy on the outside and creat and gooey on the inside. We ordered the large pizza and had leftover
The fall squash was great. They have some great sounding pizzas and a make your own option. I would love to come back and try the rotisserie chick, which is $20 for a whole chicken, a great deal. The sides and donut varieties sound unique and I’ll definitely be back. What really make the evening though was the customer service. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Went here on the the recommendation of our son who attends nearby Connecticut College. What a great find! Tucked away just off Route 1, it is a bit a small place with less than 10 small tables. Wonderful baked goods, soups, and hand made neopolitan style pizza and strangely enough a roasted chicken they make in their specialty oven. The chicken was amazing. Highly recommend this place for great food made with quality, locally sourced ingredients.
