I have no idea why this luau has only 3.4 stars! My husband and I attended on January 15th, and it was everything we imagined a Hawaiian luau would be. The location was picture-perfect, and the entertainment was exciting and engaging throughout the evening. We had no issues viewing the show, though we did purchase premier seating.

As for the food, it far exceeded our expectations. We had read several reviews complaining about the buffet, so maybe we went in with low expectations—but the food was genuinely very good for a buffet-style meal. We were nearly last in line, yet there was never a shortage. Staff were constantly replacing dishes with fresh, full ones.

While we were there, we purchased our photo and a wooden souvenir. Were they overpriced? Probably—but that’s pretty standard for tourist attractions.

What’s ironic is that we had actually paid for a different luau on the 13th that had a 4.7-star rating. When we arrived and saw it was inside a mall, we immediately walked out. My point is: sometimes you really can’t trust Google reviews, but trust me when I say this is the luau you need to attend!

We really enjoyed this luau during our stay at the Hilton. It’s a little touristy — which is to be expected — but it was still such a fun and memorable evening.

I loved that it was right on the resort property, so there was no need to worry about transportation or timing. The setting made it super convenient after a long day of exploring.

The evening started with flower bracelets for everyone and temporary tattoos, which was a cute and festive touch.

The performances were lively and entertaining, with a mix of storytelling, hula, and fire dancing that kept the energy high.

The food was solid and plentiful, with a good variety for everyone to enjoy, and the bar service was quick and friendly.

It may lean on the touristy side, but for the convenience, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, it was a great way to enjoy a luau while staying at the Hilton. I’d happily recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, stress-free luau night.

The luau in general was nice.Must say-I have seen better! Not enough activities. They make your orchard bracelet. You should be able to make your own-a better experience! Food was excellent. However- it’s nice to see the pig taken out of the ground.
The bar tender was RUDE!! Very rushy…
When the dancers were almost finished-I went to order our last drinks!!! Told I was too late-
WHAT ??? The show was not over yet!!!
Please search your Luau out-there are many options
The Hale Koa Luau was much better!
Hilton —U should do a better job !!!!!

It might be more accurate to call it the Starlight Line Dance. Even though reservations are at 5:30, the line to get in stretches until at least 6:00. Once you finally reach your table, there’s a short bit of history and then—drumroll—another line, this time to wait for the buffet.

To be fair, the food was good for a buffet. But by 8:00 p.m. the evening is basically over and they’re already rushing people out.

For $250 per person, I expected a more relaxed and welcoming experience. Instead, it felt like being moved along through a process where everyone had already paid and the goal was simply to keep the line moving.

Honestly, if guest experience were a priority, they could easily stagger start times so people aren’t all standing in line indefinitely.

My suggestion: watch the show from the side and spend $100 on a really good dinner somewhere else.

We were so happy to be able to attend this luau. The food was delicious and the choices were great. The musicians were very talented and I was impressed with how long they played. The MC was engaging and pulled everyone into the experience. The dancers were great, except maybe the one my wife liked. The excursion into the Polynesian history and culture was captivating. We were so glad that we made this part of our vacation.

This luau was amazing!! I was a little scared after reading all the negative reviews but I don’t have anything bad to say about it. The performance was on point and exciting. The food was delicious and there was a good variety of things. We received a lei, a welcome beverage, and an extra drink ticket. They had water at the tables and a coffee/tea station. For the price, my expectations were met. Yes, it was on a rooftop but there is a gorgeous view of the sunset and ocean. The decorations and set up, make it seem like you are not on a roof. Myself; my 16 year old daughter and my friend all had a great time! As far as parking went, we zipped in and out of the parking garage and the bartenders validated the parking so it was free!

D + | Roof top was something different and performers were on par. For the price point, there were many let downs. Food was atrocious (meat was dry/old, heat lamped). The progression was unique. Main host would give a briefing (story) before each performance (dance) for a total of around 6. A more clear example is before a Tonga dance ritual the host would talk about the background of it for a few minutes. So it was constant performance and stopping which made me feel disconnected at least. Not much audience involvement. Ultimately, very bougie and felt disconnected from the story/performance. Not as great as other luaus.

This was my first luau, so while I don’t have anything to compare it to, I felt the experience was quite nice. We attended the Sunday 5:30 pm show on the rooftop “garden” area. The tickets cost $185/person + taxes. We took the advice to show up early, leaving our hotel room at 5 pm, so the line wasn’t too long when we got there. But that soon changed, so I imagine the folks at the back weren’t too happy. The welcome drink was yummy, I enjoyed most of the food and desserts, felt home cooked/authentic. I did not fancy the macaroni salad or the fish. Fish is usually my favorite, but I’m not sure it’s right on a buffet. This one seemed overcooked. I do think that the buffet should have been left out a little longer for those wanting seconds given the overall price of the tickets and there was still food left. Anyway! I think what we pay for mostly is the experience and all the dancers and the host/singer were phenomenal. Really a good overall show.

My husband and I had such a great time at the luau!! Probably our favorite part of our trip! The food was great!! Loved the teriyaki chicken and pulled pork!! All the performances were amazing! Even got to be apart of it. Loved that we got the nut necklace instead of the lei as the lei doesn’t last forever. Thank you so much for a perfect evening! My only complaint was how long we waited in line as it was very hot and no shade. Also all the drinks were melted and no good by the time we finally were able to go in. Not sure what we were waiting on but in the end it was worth it. Thank you again!

If you have money to throw in the trash, don’t miss out. Otherwise, it’s an absolute scam. I paid $345 USD just for the show (excluding food) for myself, my wife, and my 4-year-old daughter. Because we didn’t purchase the dinner package, they seated us at one of the furthest tables.
The dancers were very sweet, but unfortunately, they were very mediocre. I watched the worst Haka dance of my life here. Let me put it this way: it felt like dances that any adult could prepare and perform in just one month. Only the fire show at the very end was good, and that only lasted 5 minutes anyway.
They told us the ticket included a drink; I asked for a gin and tonic, and they said they had no tonic. I am saying this without exaggeration: it was an experience worth $10 per person at most, certainly not $345 USD.
