Reviews
As for the food, it far exceeded our expectations. We had read several reviews complaining about the buffet, so maybe we went in with low expectations—but the food was genuinely very good for a buffet-style meal. We were nearly last in line, yet there was never a shortage. Staff were constantly replacing dishes with fresh, full ones.
While we were there, we purchased our photo and a wooden souvenir. Were they overpriced? Probably—but that’s pretty standard for tourist attractions.
What’s ironic is that we had actually paid for a different luau on the 13th that had a 4.7-star rating. When we arrived and saw it was inside a mall, we immediately walked out. My point is: sometimes you really can’t trust Google reviews, but trust me when I say this is the luau you need to attend!
I loved that it was right on the resort property, so there was no need to worry about transportation or timing. The setting made it super convenient after a long day of exploring.
The evening started with flower bracelets for everyone and temporary tattoos, which was a cute and festive touch.
The performances were lively and entertaining, with a mix of storytelling, hula, and fire dancing that kept the energy high.
The food was solid and plentiful, with a good variety for everyone to enjoy, and the bar service was quick and friendly.
It may lean on the touristy side, but for the convenience, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, it was a great way to enjoy a luau while staying at the Hilton. I’d happily recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, stress-free luau night.
The bar tender was RUDE!! Very rushy…
When the dancers were almost finished-I went to order our last drinks!!! Told I was too late-
WHAT ??? The show was not over yet!!!
Please search your Luau out-there are many options
The Hale Koa Luau was much better!
Hilton —U should do a better job !!!!!
To be fair, the food was good for a buffet. But by 8:00 p.m. the evening is basically over and they’re already rushing people out.
For $250 per person, I expected a more relaxed and welcoming experience. Instead, it felt like being moved along through a process where everyone had already paid and the goal was simply to keep the line moving.
Honestly, if guest experience were a priority, they could easily stagger start times so people aren’t all standing in line indefinitely.
My suggestion: watch the show from the side and spend $100 on a really good dinner somewhere else.
The dancers were very sweet, but unfortunately, they were very mediocre. I watched the worst Haka dance of my life here. Let me put it this way: it felt like dances that any adult could prepare and perform in just one month. Only the fire show at the very end was good, and that only lasted 5 minutes anyway.
They told us the ticket included a drink; I asked for a gin and tonic, and they said they had no tonic. I am saying this without exaggeration: it was an experience worth $10 per person at most, certainly not $345 USD.
