I love this place. Its definitely the locals favorite. Everyone is friendly. Its always super clean. Good food fast! Its hard to oick one item from the menu thats my favorite. Catfish is on point and its friday nights special. Meatloaf is the best ive tasted and youll get a huge piece. Of course they’re known for their chicken. One of the daily specials is chicken and dumplings and they always run out if you dont get there early. Make sure you get a dessert.

If I could rate zero stars I would. A family member worked here and it was nothing but toxic. Susan talks crap behind customer backs calling them names. There was a coachroach in the mashed potatoes and they just sciopero it out and left the surrounding sides around it. How gross. I will never eat this location again. It’s just nasty and charlie would be so dissappointed.

Charlie’s chicken has great chicken chunks, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and cole slaw. I don’t care for their baked beans. This particular restaurant, the staff, is always nice and very helpful. They do not offer a gluten-free menu, so if you need gluten-free, I recommend the rotisserie chicken. The meat loaf does contain gluten as well, so steer clear of this for all you meat loaf lovers, if you have to avoid gluten.

I have enjoyed Charlie’s Chicken since it was first located on York. Life long customer, today I placed my order very clearly, paid in cash assumed I wouldn’t need my receipt. As I pulled away I realized I didn’t get my drink, got back inline for another 10 to 15 minutes. When I got to the window, I was questioned like a bank robber. Three girls crowed around the cash register looking for my order. Finally I was told I wasn’t charged for a drink. If I had ordered one, I would have gotten it. No sorry, etc Plus it was just after 5 and they were out of dumplings, I was wondering why people were leaving after getting to the window. So they put a size up that said, Yes, we are really out of dumplings!!!! I am considering not going back to this location.

We have been eating at Charlie’s for over 35 years. In the last few years the food and service has turned horrible. The employees are more concerned about each other than the customers. We are done getting cold, old chunks when we pay for fresh hot ones. With Charlie not there as much, it’s absolutely NOT the same and it’s a shame no one will fill his shoes. If he knew how it was ran, he would be so disappointed. I hope the employees read this and will “grow up” some. Just a shame…….
