Absolutely love this place. This is now my new favorite restaurant. Definitely gonna be coming here more, and the owner was absolutely the best and amazing everything was perfect. I have been wanting to try Ethiopian food for a while now and I am so glad I went here. If I could give this place a better rating other than 5 stars I would. I highly recommend this place for date/ friend dinner.

Wow! A treasure in Anchorage! Delicious and fresh! Yebeg (lamb) Tibs and the Vegetable platter along with Ethiopian Caffeine free tea is perfect. Chef is very friendly and aims to please. Will be back again and again!

Out of this world delicious. As soon as you walk in you are hit with instant comfort and warmth. You will know what I am talking about once you come in and experience it for yourself; That is if you want an experience that cannot be had anywhere in else in the state! It’s worthwhile. We are pretty adventurous and love trying new cuisines. This is now my favorite cuisine and my new favorite restaurant! My teen daughter got the Tibsi Siga and I got the Mixed Vegan Platter with Yebeg Tibs. The Chef put the lamb in the middle of the Mixed Vegan Platter. I can tell this restaurant and each dish are built cautiously and strategically with love. I don’t even know you and I already love you. Thank you for sharing your amazing food with us!

Omigoodness, it’s so good! My picture isn’t the best because I forgot to take it before eating.
The place smells wonderful as you walk in and the staff is just so friendly! Advice: try the tea (so good) and ask questions.

We went here for lunch and were not disappointed. The owner was so kind and friendly. We shared a couple dishes, the mixed vegetarian platter and the Doro Tibs.

Just go. If you want some super tasty and flavorful food in the ambiance of smooth jazz, Queen of Sheba is a must! Really enjoyed dishes 12 and 14 tonight with lamb and chicken. So refreshing to eat something different than pizza or burgers once in a while. If you are a vegan, this place makes veggies so much better that maybe you won’t hate yourself as much.

12/10. I’ve been to this restaurant twice and my heart (and stomach) sings. The food is INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere is stellar – relaxing, peaceful, warm, intimate. I’ve told friends time and time again, if you haven’t gone – go tonight! And get the tea 🙂

WOWWWW!! This place is AMAZING and our server Dawitt is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! look no further because this place is A MUST TRY. I’ve had Ethiopian food in Africa and the Middle East and I promise this little restaurant is the real deal- Queen of Sheba is sincerely – hands down – is one of the BEST RESTAURANTS in town!! My friends and I came in this afternoon to dine and we had the BESTEST EXPERIENCE . Our waiter, Dawitt, was absolutely INCREDIBLE and super friendly, one of the best servers I’ve ever seen. We sat down and he told us that he comes in at 4am to prepare food for the day, he cooks with the freshest ingredients from the valley and definitely incorporates lot’s of love in the meals- you can definitely taste how much care and pride he has when cooking. Dawitt took such great care of us, always filled our cups instantly and was super fast preparing the meal. Dawitt was both our server and cook- an amazing hard worker- and we could tell through his stories of how passionate he was about the restaurant and the yummy food he creates. Also, This place serves HUGE PORTIONS! I recommend getting a few plates and sharing with friends, it’s a lot of fun trying so many different foods and most of our conversation at the table was talking about how amazing everything tasted. You have to try their hot tea, that was one of the highlights of the meal after a cold morning. The atmosphere of this cute place and the deep passion Dawitt incorporates in his food was absolutely incredible. I’ve eaten at many restaurants in Anchorage, but this place is definitely now one of my favorites. EAT HERE and say hello to Dawitt because he definitely deserves a high five and applause for his hard work and care. I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant absolutely blew us away with how yummy everything was and Dawitt’s kindness. We will FOR SURE COME BACK soon!! Thank you again Dawitt for your incredible stories and a meal filled with love and passion. This place is amazing and it’s a must try!! There is a good reason this place has such high reviews and you and your friends will LOVE this place!! EAT HERE!! It’s one of the coolest places in town! 🙂

Excellent!!! I was immensely impressed with everything about this restaurant. Visiting from Chicago, I have experienced several authentic and fine Ethiopian restaurants. Chicago has a strong Ethiopian presence. This is one of the BEST I’ve tasted. Spices were divine and authentic and the portions were plenty. To top it off the service was great. We seated ourselves and our order was taken and we had our meal within minutes.
The host/waitress/server/cashier handled a full group of restaurant patrons with style and professionalism. The restaurant was clean and very presentable including the bathroom. The chairs were comfortable and the ambiance was excellent. Would have been nice to have more traditional music. But the Jazz was nice.
Having had plenty of authentic and good Ethiopian food, I rate this among the best!! I’m just visiting Alaska but I hope to return before leaving.

According to my Cajun husband, the lentil turmeric soup with spicy shrimp was “slap yo’ momma good”. He does not give out compliments like this often. He said it reminded him of his grandmother’s lentil and andouille sausage soup. I enjoyed the fact that everything on the menu except the injera was gluten free. I ordered the vegan platter. I enjoyed it with rice. It was so filling I did take leftovers with me. The traditional tea was soul warming. Winter spices and a cardamom pod. Heaven. I had two servings. Then I ordered coffee for the end of my meal experience. #glutenfree #vegan
The restaurant filled up while we ate. Comfort food for all.
They were out of baklava since the lady they purchase it from didn’t cook a batch today.
They do prefer cash or checks. An ATM is present in the restaurant. It charges a nominal fee (less than a dollar).
