My coworkers and I chose Slogar for an employee event and were extremely disappointed—especially considering we spent over $800 on a meal that was both tasteless and poorly serviced.
Our reservation was initially for 10 people but ended up being 13. From the moment the extra guests arrived, the waitress openly complained about the additional heads, which immediately made the environment feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. While I do appreciate that they accommodated us by moving our group to a larger table, hearing repeated complaints made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
The food was extremely underwhelming. The biscuits were very dry, the mac and cheese was unpleasant and borderline inedible, and overall the food lacked flavor. The only redeeming item was the corn—it was genuinely the star of the meal.
When we asked for additional sides, the waitress said “sure,” but we never received them. We were served two trays of fried chicken (about 10–12 pieces), and when we asked for more, we were told to take chicken from other tables, which was shocking and completely inappropriate.
To make matters worse, the so-called “dessert” was just prepackaged ice cream sandwiches—the same kind you can buy at Clark’s—which felt incredibly cheap and disappointing for the price we paid.
For a bill totaling $800+, the quality of food, service, and overall experience was unacceptable. This is not a place I would return to or recommend.

First time here, stop in the parlor since I was traveling alone. The salad is probably the best part. I was able to order just two pieces of chicken off the parlor menu. Ask the waiter for dark chicken. You basically told me you get what you got in so many terms. Not rude how to cook puts what’s available. Of course I got it dried out piece of chicken breast. I got some old school. When the guests ask for something usually you get it. Ask for no creamed corn. Came on the plate. Waders have mentioned half an ice cream sandwich which I had to ask for at the end. So overall blah.

The food was wonderful! Unlimited appetizers (salad, cottage cheese which pairs with a tomato chutney, and coleslaw) are brought to every table. Ribeyes were perfectly cooked and delicious! Unlimited sides with those (mashed potatoes, gravy, & cream corn). Dessert is an ice cream sandwich, which I would only give a 3/5. The restaurant was a little on the cool side, so I kept my coat on. Definitely make a reservation in advance! I’ve been here a few times over the last decade, and it’s always been great!

This place is great. The reservation is a must. The dinner is all you can eat sides and appetizers, but you must buy a protein from the available options. We bought the sampler platter and ohh my it was a ton of food for 2 people and 1 kids. We had two kids so needed to get one more kids meal. The food was excellent. The service was also very good, but for the price it better be expected.
The fried chicken that is famous is absolutely worth it. It was spiced perfectly, very moist, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy side were also very good and I’d recommend it. The steak was ordered medium but came medium rare, luckily I like it like that too, but wife prefers it a bit more cooked. Besides the collard greens that my family doesn’t like, there really isn’t anything we did not like.

Kim is literally the best bartender anyone could ask for. So friendly, and an artist when it comes to making drinks. Not to mention, the service in general from all the staff, and the food is absolutely fantastic. This might be one of the best food/cocktail spots in all of Crested Butte. Highly Recommend checking out. Try the Chicken Sandwich or the Ribeye steak

While the owner insists everything was handled correctly, that does not change how our group was treated or how confusing and uncomfortable the situation felt in real time. Guests should not be made to feel questioned or invalidated for sharing their experience—especially when doing so respectfully.
A professional response would have focused on listening, accountability, and hospitality. Unfortunately, the reply reinforced the same lack of care we experienced during our visit. I hope the team reflects on how they communicate with customers moving forward
