At our Charlotte, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

My stuffed crabs were soaked in grease, and so lackluster!! All of them were barely even filled, much less have anything that resembled crabmeat in them. It was 7/8 breading. I found an occasional onion or pepper…I think. My hush puppies were the same way, disgustingly full of grease and ridiculously underwhelming!! Also where do they serve warm green tatar sauce?? Oh this Captain D’s, that’s where. They need a serious revamp!! Even the restaurant is old and outdated. Where are the standards? What happened to this family favorite place to dine?

I only went to this location today because my beloved Captain D’s on Sharon Amity has permanently closed. Upon entering this location I momentarily pause, because I thought I walked in on something. It turned out the staff simply looked out of place. Everyone looked as if they were at home. The energy was unsettling and not conducive to any type of business. There was another peculiar thing that kept my head on a swivel, but I won’t even go into that. I simply left. Looks like my Captain D’s days are over. I had a good run.

DELICIOUS! That fish sandwich really hits the spot! Today I tried the coleslaw instead of fries. I really enjoy that it’s got some sweetness to it. Topped the meal off with a sweet tea. I was the only car in the drive through and got my food fast and hot! I’ll be coming back to this location for sure! Great quick seafood fix!

Just rude and disrespectful the entire staff as a whole are unprofessional…disappointing from people who look like me but choose ignorance. You work in customer but couldnt accommodate for your lack of communication skills and mistakes. Such low class behavior when that how we’re already made to look why give them live proof…do better or find a different job or get therapy. The food was also mid as I remember from my childhood anyway. Last time I’ve been here was 3 years ago with the same experience but I just couldn’t remember why I stopped going bingo! ..shameful and unethical.

This Captain D’s has the worst service. Please make sure that you check your food before you leave. Today my husband went and got us 2 country fried fish plates and he didn’t check the food before leaving. When he brought me the food for my lunch the fish was crumbled up in the boxes. I called to let the manager know what happened and told her I took pictures of the plates. I told her I didn’t know when I would be able to come back to get it replaced because I work all the time. She said to keep the food and whenever I can bring it back even if it’s next week she will replace it. So, she wanted me to carry this box of crumbs home from work, put in my fridge or what not until I can return to her store to have it replaced. That makes no sense at all. So, no lunch for me and no apology from her and I guess no replacement even though I have a picture of the box and my receipt. So a loss for me

Yesterday I purchased a 10 piece shrimp entrée and 2 of the 10 piece fish family meals. I ordered online and picked up the meal after work. Before making my 40 min commute home. Imagine my surprise to find out only 9 shrimp in the box and instead of fish I got chicken that was fried using fish batter. To make sure I broke it apart and saw that it was flaky like fish because of the batter but was definitely chicken. All 20 pieces! If you were out of fish you should have called me so I could have canceled the order! Shame on you Captain D’s
