Wow, what a great find. Along Federal in a little strip mall is this jewel of a sushi restaurant. Seated six and had a great meal with outstanding friendly service. We will definitely be back many times.

Kevin chatted with me at the bar the whole time, he’s warm and welcoming. And the food, good heavens the three rolls I got were astoundingly good.

I ordered some standard fare.
Sashimi,Tomka Gai, and pad Thai.

The sashimi was fine.

The soup… why would you put peppers in that, ever? For that matter, why would you put cherry tomatoes in? The flavor was bland and boring with no depth even though I ordered medium.

Pad Thai. Ordering this is a standard experimentation when trying new restaurants for Thai food. If they mess that up, there’s no reason to bother ordering anything else. It looked fine in the box, but it was a solid clump of dry stuck together noodles with zero flavor, even though I ordered it medium. It should have at least SOME sauce to it!

If I ordered it in the restaurant, I would send it all back except for the sushi.

I will not order again from them.

Waiter was very moody and gave us poor service , ordered a spicy salmon roll and it was not spicy whatsoever, i asked the waiter to confirm if it was the spicy salmon roll and he said it was, i then proceeded to find a salmon bone in my roll and i notified the waiter and all he did was apologize. I then heard the chef which is the owner talking to his workers about me saying “if i found a bone why would i keep eating it” when i had stopped eating it right when i found a bone. Which is also completely unprofessional. I ordered curry and before i ordered i asked if it was spicy and he said “we can make it spicy” and i shook my head no that i dont want it spicy, when it arrived it was spicy and i could barely eat it i had to keep drinking water. Terrible server, terrible food i would not recommend this place to anyone.

The overarching theme from all the food we ordered was a lack of flavor. We had a large order (4 bags) and one item was left out. Super frustrating because someone in our party didn’t get their meal. However, when we called they refunded the amount of the missing item. The first picture of the roll was really over fried. The ends were black and the meat inside was really dry. The tofu was not great but tolerable with the mushroom sauce. The Godzilla roll was good. Other members of my group got the pad Thai. They didn’t like it because it lacked flavor and the noodles were saturated and stuck together. We were very excited for a 4.7 star sushi establishment, but Kevin’s sushi & Thai did not live up to the hype.

I arrived at 10:20pm (they close at 11). As soon as I walked in the chef looked at me and said “takeout only.” I’m visiting from Atlanta and walked 1.5miles in the heat from my Airbnb because of the good reviews. He said they do this when it’s slow, but closing the dining room 40 minutes early is rude – especially when there are two other people just sitting in the dining room. I ate my takeout on the curb outside the restaurant. Really crazy. The woman who took my order was really sweet, though.

The entire experience was awful the bald server was extremely rude. We found a bone in the salmon roll and he didn’t seem to care and we found it when we were almost done eating the sushi and we could hear the chef say “why did she keep eating it if there was a bone” when we found the bone in the second to last piece. The ny steak is barely any meat and they are charging around $26 for 5 bits of meat with rice and veggies. The service was awful and they made us pay for the food we didn’t eat. The curry was extremely spicy when we asked for no spicy. We were treated extremely rudely and would never recommend this place.

Kevin has absolutely the best Sushi. The cleanest, freshest and an amazing selection. The salads are all delicious. The soups are always awesome. Great balance of seasonings and never overly salty. His house Saki is so smooth and flavorful it should be bottled and sold nationwide.

My boyfriend loves this place, so he finally brought me in and wow! He was not lying…. best sushi!

I asked if they could make a spicy tuna cucumber wrap. So it is spicy tuna, carrots, and avocado all wrapped in cucumber! It was so delicious! The tuna was perfect!

I honestly can’t remember the name of what my bf got… crab lover? I have no idea, but the pic is below!

I got two side order of the hibachi rice, which it was good… wish there was a little more flavor but still good!

My boyfriend got the kevin’s special rice… I think that is what is it called haha but he loves that dish.

The homemade pineapple sake was amazing. I don’t like sake… so I was surprised to like this one.

We had the fried ice cream for dessert which was good!

Will definitely go back 🙂
