Fantastic place with great live Jazz on Wednesdays, and many other events. The owners are friendly and interesting people. It’s reasonably priced, and a good choice of wines and food.
If you go more than once, you will start recognising people, but if you are not in a social mood, there are different areas so you can sit away from your adoring fans.

Went in and asked for 2 toasties and a double expresso, the staff looked like they didn’t have a sleep for couple of days, very grumpy.
Thanks here was a hair in the toastie i went anc complained to the attendant she made another sandwich then she acused the hair to be mine, i wanted to talk and explain the hair wasn’t mine. She just ignored me , very bad attitude from all the staff ,
The coffe was horrible also,

Just paid £2.25 for a flat white (takeaway) that I cannot drink because the milk was gone off or hadn’t been heated properly as it has curdled and is undrinkable. Shame I didn’t notice until I had already walked away and taken it on the bus. Gross.

Terrible staff, they assault you and get away with it, i had drink thrown over me and all the management done was say sorry for his staff’s behaviour, not acceptable and I will never be bk to empire bar or would I advise anyone to hold a event as it not the kinda place I would invite people as bar manager and musician myself.
