Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly. This was our first time trying Whatabuger in Winston-Salem. The burger was juicy and the cheese was gooey. Reminded me of sunny summer day with family, eating a homecooked burger. We were pleasantly surprised on how good everything was. Decided to split a triple, best decision on a burger.

I do not even know why they are open. Just close down and leave. Sell it to Burger King.
I gave this place two chances, neither of which was a good idea. Had a birthday, my friend asked me where I wanted to go so I said let’s give this new place a try. He was reluctant and I should have listened. We did it anyway and I do not know what the fuss was about with the hamburgers and the supposedly delicious French fries. The hamburger was; I don’t know what it was really, other than terrible. I’ve had better hamburgers and french fries from a Play-Doh set. I said to myself well give them another shot. Next time it’s zero dark 30 just go get breakfast. Let me tell you, that was another bad idea.
I placed my order a 0613 on October 24th I departed October 24th at 0700. There was no one in the Drive-Thru because I took pictures of it and at 0629 I was told that my order would be out in a few minutes. I had already locked in because it took too long. There was myself and another gentleman in the dining area. Another gentleman pulled up and I told him he would be better off going somewhere else, he went across the lot to Starbucks. I don’t know what kind of bad tasting mystery meat they call that sausage that comes with those pancakes with the little black bitter chips on them that seemed as if they were scraped off of the bottom of a cast iron cauldron. I had a very weak plastic fork that came pre-bent as if I was going to either pick my teeth of the macerated cartilage gristle and oats they refer to as pancake sausage, orrrr it had been used to trigger the seat belt release button is someone’s emergency exit from a vehicle. I saw a dirty dining room, dirty bathroom, greasy walkway, greasy lot, litter, dirty stations. Inow I wonder what I did not see in the back of the house. There was no excuse for it. Every picture here has a problem with, but not limited to, ServeSafe, ADA, Courtesy, Customer Service, Brand Development, Brand Risk, Brand Harms. I don’t see Whataburger lasting very long. I assume they will stay in business just long enough to leave just like every other business that was in that same location. This place is garbage.

I really liked the different sauces but I feel like you should atleast get one free with ur meal. That’s how we do it at my job. The burger really didn’t have flavor but the topping gave alittle taste. Service was excellent. Now the Blackberry dr. Pepper shake…I was curious so I had to try..now that was on my bomb.com list. It was surprisingly amazing! The cinnamon bun was excellent as well.

I was super excited to try this place. Unfortunately it was a terrible let down. We went for lunch at 11/16/2025 @ 1:30pm. We waited 15 mins to order(expected as a new restaurant) and placed order at 2pm. We waited 30 mins to get our food and it was all cold at 2:37pm Then we got trapped in line behind 2 other vehicles who didnt even receive their food yet. We literally had to eat cold food while stuck in line. We paid 48$ to eat cold food and be late going back to work. Terrible experience. Horrible service and cold food. First and possibly last time i will eat there.

This review will be edited if it changes after going back a couple months from now.

I have eaten at Whataburger in Texas and Florida. This isn’t the same at all and is truly said even considering its new with all new staff. Although I know they were training before opening, they may still have some growing pains.

It took about 20 minutes to order although there were only a few people in line and I could over heard complaints, a woman requesting to speak to a manager and many others saying they have been waiting forever. So, I ordered my usual order when visiting Texas. I had hoped to at least receive the same flavor and quality. Simply out, I did not. You can get a drink at the soda fountain area and there is no catchup or sauce or condiments. You have to wait for someone with a condiment tray to come around. No one asks you otherwise. Would be best to have them out and ready.

I got my food and fries first off, had no salt or flavor of any kind. They didn’t seem fresh, warm or flavorful at all. The burger also, had no flavor at all and was warm. I did grab spicy ketchup from the condiment guy and it was not spicy at all, tasted just like ketchup.

It didn’t seem like tables were cleaned at all and I even saw an employee sit in front of me at a table after wandering and not doing anything. Then to top it off, when you get done dining, you have to take care of your tray and trash. Trash cans are full and overflowing so it’s almost impossible with one trash can for the lobby.

I left very disappointed and discussed with two other friends and come to find out, had the same experience. So sad, I was so excited about this location opening.

The lady taking my order was polite though

This should be called whatajoke because its a joke how bad this restaurant is. I don’t know what all the hype is about but I will not ever return. My first time visiting was 2 day ago. I had 45 mins. to burn before my 1:45pm appointment down the street needless to say I was late my appointment because I sat in their drive thru for 50 minutes waiting to place my order and to receive my food. Let’s talk about the food. So I ordered the #1 combo whataburger fries and drink and whatasized it to a large. The two drive thru lanes that were open was clearly not being ran in the order the tickets were being processed. I watched 10 cars come around after me and get their order and food and leave all while I sat and waited. They are very unorganized and the young lady that was taking order in the outer lane was delivering food to the wrong cars as I sat and watched. When my order finally came out my fries were stone cold. Like how is that even possible? The burger was a mix BTW burger king and Wendy’s. It was a nice size but it tasted horrible and the amount of large chopped onions were very overwhelming amd it had too much mustard and not enough seasoning for me. After being late for my appointments I have decided to never return to another whatburger. Please be advised only go of you have a lot of time to waste because they are beyond slow and very unorganized. Do better.

It was clean inside but the service is missing! My burger was cold and it was missing the ranch and honey bbq sauce that I had to pay extra for!

Upon delivery it was also missing the fancy ketchup and ranch dipping sauce.

I was excited to try it but I’m not a fan! The staff doesn’t seem happy either.

Went through the drive-through today ordered my food got home. They gave me fries with onion rings and their tomato on the sandwich. They just need to do a better job of paying attention when they’re packing the bags

Got the double jalapeño burger, fries, drink. The drink was the best thing. Fries were warm somewhat. The burger was one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had, couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Very disappointed
