We had dinner there!
Located within Doshisha University’s Kanbaikan building, this restaurant is open to the public and is one of my favorites, with its striking brick exterior.
There are three course options to choose from, and this time I ordered Dinner C, which requires advance reservations.
From appetizers to wagyu beef dishes and dessert, it was a very satisfying dinner overall.
The wagyu beef dish in particular was incredibly tender, with just the right amount of fat.
Each appetizer, soup, and fresh fish dish was carefully prepared, and the overall balance of the course was excellent.
For dessert, we had a strawberry crepe.
The balance of sweetness and the bitter caramel was perfect, making it a delicious after-meal treat without being too heavy.
For drinks, I chose sparkling wine, which paired perfectly with the course meal.
The interior is calm and stylish, and located on the top floor of the Kanbaikan building, it’s a relaxing space to unwind.
The atmosphere evokes a Kyoto vibe, making it ideal for sightseeing or anniversary dinners.
Both the food and the atmosphere were very satisfying, and it’s a restaurant I’d like to return to on a special occasion!

I think it’s a hidden gem. It’s probably not well known. The window seats offer a fantastic view. You can see the beautiful buildings of Doshisha and Mt. Daimonji. You can have lunch in a relaxing room. For dinner, you can get a full course meal, which uses rare ingredients. They also serve alcohol, which is rare among restaurants associated with Doshisha. You can have wine by the bottle or by the glass.

the view is amazing.

I had lunch here when I visited my alma mater. The view from the window was great, and the course meal was reasonably priced. I would like to go again if I have the opportunity.

We used this restaurant for a business dinner. It was delicious. The sauces on the domestically sourced meat dishes were particularly outstanding. The colors of the dishes were also stunning and well worth seeing. The view was also excellent, with views of Mt. Hiei and Haradani Valley.

This French restaurant is located on the 7th floor of Doshisha University’s Kanbaikan building. It’s hard to believe it’s a university restaurant; the atmosphere is calm and the location is wonderful. The food is delicious, the service is courteous, and the prices are reasonable. I was very satisfied. I went without a reservation, but there was no wait and I was able to eat right away. I’d like to go again.
