I wish I lived in East Haven. I live in NYC, and I had the best pizza of my entire life at Nicky’s Place Bar & Pizza.
I tried the Nickstrong pizza and the Hot Oil pizza. I had the Nickstrong first, and I was like, wow, I love this! Then I finished that slice and tried the Hot Oil pizza. After my first bite, I said, this is the best pizza I’ve ever had!
I love the spiciness and the dough was chewy and flavorful. It was sooooo good Also all the staff are so nice and attentive. I’ll definitely stop by again whenever I get a chance to come to Connecticut.

We ordered every 1 of their specialty pizzas, they all were great, my favorite tho was hot honey with pepperon, the lobster pizza definitely turned some heads. We had a apple pie and pumpkin pie dessert pizza to that was phenomenal. The waitresses were awesome and the owner came out and checked on us a few time’s, super nice guy.

Extremely awesome food. Wonderful people who greet you like your part of the family. Philly egg rolls were ❤️ ! The pizza phenomenal. Next visit to Connecticut we will definitely be visiting when we touch down again. Many blessings and continued success and thanks for the warm hospitality.

My husband and I got hot wings, and a large pizza (w/ 2 alcoholic drinks). Everything was alright, but not super amazing or anything. Although the pizza looks super good, it was lacking in flavor and a bit too watery and mediocre for the price.
The wings were pretty good though. Hot, saucy, and singed my nose hairs (more so because they’re vinegary too). But nothing to write home about.
It kills me that they give cheese instead of ranch for dipping though, but I must be too Midwestern.
My espresso martini tasted somewhat unpleasant too, and I can’t really put my finger on what exactly was wrong with it… Kind of like dirty soapy water. I’ve ordered it many times before then, and it never tasted quite like it, and I was sad trying to finish it. It was too expensive too. But it definitely got me quite drunk drinking that first on an empty stomach!
I think overall it’s not a bad place to eat at, but it’s not really so special or good that I’d ever crave to go there. Just convenient and pleasant enough w/ atmosphere & service. Because I think it’s pretty okay and mediocre, I give it 3 stars for now.
Maybe in the future I’ll update this review if there’s something else on the menu that wows us.

I always had a great experience there whether it was eat in or to go. Ant the owner is such a great guy and an amazing friend. I really appreciate everything you did especially last year the comedy show in memory of my late friend I definitely can’t tell you enough how much it means to me. Holy crap was this worth a trip! Drove down from Berlin to try the all you can eat wing special and could not be happier, we did! The wings were outstanding in flavor, they were big and you could tell they were fresh. My wife got the mashed potato and bacon pizza and I’m pretty sure we might get in a fist fight over the leftovers later. We even spent time chatting with the owner’s mom, Sue, who made us feel like she was the neighborhood Mom hosting friends over to watch football and we were neighbors. We will definitely be back to try the French onion soup, pizza, and eat some more of these delicious wings!

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. It has limited parking and it has good service. The pies came out a few minutes after I arrived. I ordered three pies for pick-up. A large “Pepperoni, Bacon and Mozzarella”, a small “Chicken Pesto”, and small “Hot Oil”.
I personally really loved the “Hot Oil”. It will creep up on you. We paid a total of $56. I’ll comeback again.

The wife and I went there with our son and a bunch of his friends for his birthday meal and everything was excellent. Nicky’s mom Sue, Is a sweet lady and made us feel like we were at home! We only got to enjoy pizza and wings (dinners next time) and so many people can screw those basic foods up but not here. Everything was delicious and we look forward to going back!

Fabulous food and fun atmosphere. My husband and I got bruschetta, and boneless wings with buffalo and garlic Parm sauce… absolutely delicious. My husband got the Hulk burger and he said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. Oh and I had a chocolate martini as well and that was amazing. We got to meet the owner and his family and they are such lovely people and so welcoming. I wish you nothing but success, everything you are doing it’s amazing!
