We stumbled across this cute place Saturday evening while visiting the Arts District. We love historic homes and that’s one thing that drew us to it. Upon entering we were greeted by Shelly and Patrick the owners. They instantly made us feel right at home.

Speaking of home, that’s what this place felt like. It had a cozy, comfy feeling and the owners made it even more homey. They offered water for pets in a cute little container, they offered a shelf with games, puzzles, crayons, coloring books, and more for kids and families, they offered what appeared to be complimentary coffee, and teas. The walls displayed beautiful artwork that was also for sale from local artist. The place had character and charm. There is a cute little fireplace in the middle that is no longer operational but we enjoyed hearing the history of it. Patrick and Shelly were very friendly and we enjoyed speaking to them after dinner about the history of the home they had turned into a cozy and great food restaurant. Shelly gave me a map of and told me all about the Art District. We also spoke about how we both met our husbands in highschool! Felt like we made some nice friends. They made us feel like family!

The food was amazing! It’s also affordable compared to many in the area. Between my family of four we had the brisket, pulled pork, ribs, cucumber, tomato, and onion salad, house, slaw, rolls, salad, and beef and cheese quesadilla. Both my husband and son loved the cucumber, tomato, and onion salad they ordered as a side. We also enjoyed the side of coleslaw. It was made perfectly. My house salad was big and fresh. Very tasty. Everyone loved the meat! Especially the pulled pork and brisket! Wow! So good!!!!! My daughter enjoyed her quesadilla.

We also appreciated that they made their historic beauty into an ADA accessible place. There is a ramp up to the restaurant. They also made it ADA accessible to the restrooms. This made it easier for my disabled daughter and her service dog Buddy.

Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food! We will definitely be back.

We were very impressed by the atmosphere, owner, menu, and the most important part…the food. We were there at lunchtime. Furthermore, we were the first ones there. I had an Italian cold sandwich that was very good. My wife had the pulled pork platter, with corn, mac & cheese, and rolls. The pulled pork and BBQ sauce were excellent. The star of the show was the mac & cheese. We have never eaten mac & cheese this good before. It was different, and you have to try it. The owner said that he and another chef worked on the right combo for the mac & cheese. They deserve an award, which could be your visit to ty it!

The food here is delicious. They have a 3 type of meat plate which came with brisket, pull pork and ribs and 2 sides (the portions was a great size) and it was extremely tasty. My husband had the pork tacos and he also said they were good. Totally recommend. We love coming to mom and pop restaurants so a total recommendation. My kiddos got a complimentary ice pop thank you!

My wife and I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon during the local art market. The market was pretty empty so we were the only customers at 2pm. Fortunately the food was quite good. My brisket sandwich was very tasty and so were the chicken tacos that my wife ordered. You order everything at the counter and yet they still offer. Great customer service.

What a great little spot! Great historical building converted to a small, family and dog friendly restaurant.
I had the brisket and the first bite was heavenly. I don’t think I even had to chew , the meat just melted in my mouth. Theac and cheese was delicious and the baked beans were so good I had to take the leftovers home. We’ll definitely make this a regular spot on our “weekend adventures”. Patrick, Shelly, and Kendall all made our experience one to remember. Y’all definitely need to stop by and check them out. Additionally they’re “Iowa Famous”, so you know it’s good.

Tried “The Village Patio” a local restaurant in Sarasota, FL. right on the edge of the Art District neighborhood for lunch this afternoon. I met the owner Patrick and stuck up a conversation with him about his restaurant and sports. Very enjoyable local establishment to take a break at and get something to eat and people watch. Pizza was very good all fresh produce. Patrick was even kind to provide me with a taste of his brisket that he was preparing for the day. Brisket was amazing! I will be back when I return to Sarasota in the winter time. Thank you Patrick for thr conversation and good eats! When in Sarasota, FL. look up “The Village Patio” and support local restaurants in the area or areasy you visit else where you may be surprised.

Happened upon this place while visiting the arts district. It was recommended to me by a local who enthusiastically endorsed the food. What impressed me was the place was very clean and the owner prepared the food. While we only ordered the nachos with pork, it was a huge portion, well prepared and satisfying to the 3 of us. We all enjoyed it!

I look forward to returning and trying other menu items

One of my absolute favorite places in Bradenton. Shelley and Patrick are a delight, always willing to have a great conversation and go out of their way to make customers feel like part of their family. The food is SO good. Great taste and leaves you feeling good after. Sandwiches, pulled pork, and that AMAZING mac and cheese, it’s all so good! A wonderful vibe. I have eaten here again and again. Every time, I leave satisfied and already ready for my next visit. The food is great, the staff are welcoming, and the vibe is perfect for either a friend’s night out or a quiet dinner with yourself. My favorite items to order are the brisket quesadillas and the Mac and cheese.
Highly recommend.
