Tea and coffee also done with conscientious brewing techniques that are mindful of the brew/steep time and yet give customers the option to bre longer. Fresh local honey was delivered while we were there, and we had some with our tea – it was also delicious. 🙂
From the classic breakfast, to sausage gravy, to burgers, specialty breads and muffins – this was delightful. We only got a few pictures as the food was so delicious to see we dove right in. Highly recommend!!
The cafe is small, so be prepared on weekends nice days to see a crowd and perhaps wait on a table. One of the best restaurants in Wilpo.
When they’re busy and all the tables are full, the counter staff “saves” the next open table for you when you order. With any luck a table will open up by the time the food is ready, and you can sit down to eat it. And of course people pop into the shop and don’t know about this hidden practice and sit at a table, and you have to Hope a counter person comes out from behind the counter to tell them they can’t sit there. In all super awkward for all the customers and staff involved.
Parking was my only challenge. I parked in the street, in front of Dollar General, on the same side of the road as the restaurant. I’m not saying this was ok, but there were no signs saying otherwise.
This was my first time here, but I’d bet the place can get pretty busy. With the quality of food and service they offer, that would make sense. And a big thumbs up for them not serving take-out in Styrofoam.
Be sure to stop here and enjoy!
The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I’d say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly “woke” vibe.
I’ve gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn’t.
The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren’t standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up.
The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table.
However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we’ve done it many times before and most people do.
We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes.
We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
