Though I’ve scoured the pages of Webster’s, I’m left without the proper words to describe my experience of THE Brass Rail. I came here on a cool September evening with KP and the lads, stumbling into what we thought was an unassuming local joint, though it turned out to be much more. The Brass Rail is THE spot in Portland to cut up a rug whilst consuming barley pops. Up in the treehouse, nothing could stop as as we circumnavigated to the groove. The domestic brews are chilled TO PERFECTION by the grizzled characters who work here, true artisans of their craft. It would be safe to say that no visit to Portland would be fulfilled without a visit to this dive bar mecca.

A friendly place with tons of character. The building is unique, has a lot of history and features artwork celebrating many of the customers who have been there over the years. I just started going there recently and always feel welcome and treated like family. The drinks are super affordable, the ice cream shots are worth making a trip for! The patio is a nice feature, I had fun playing cornhole on my most recent visit. They frequently have pool tournaments and also have karaoke a couple nights a week.

The brass rail is the place to go if you’re looking for a dive bar in Portland, Melissa is the best bar tender I’ve ever encountered!! Cheap drinks and there is always someone to play pool with! I’ll definitely be back

I’m big into dive bars and places really only locals go and this place has to be one of the top dive bars in Portland. Many of my friends call this the “sketchy bar” because in all honesty i wouldn’t have gone in if I didn’t have a friend who brought me here.
There are no windows and it appears to be like an old barn.
They have karaoke, good beer prices and it’s never been packed since I’ve gone here.
The bathrooms are kinda the icing on the cake here and look like straight out of a horror film.
So if you like a slightly rough, but friendly crowd I recommend stopping in and checking it out.

Great place to step out of the daily pressure to please others and just be yourself for a while. Good service. The tenders actually want to get to know you and not just take your money and walk away. They are attentive and keep the old place clean. Two thumbs up here.

It has been a few years since I have been here but…..Biker bar if I recall correctly. Parking is shared with carwash lot to the left, but limited. Fenced off area to the right (has a door) is smoking area and a few picnic tables. Believe there is a pool table, quarters play and a jukebox(?) I believe there is a DJ (kareoki??, horrible spellingk Barkeep was friendly although it has been a while. Dive bar

Everytime I have gone to the Rail it was amazing…. except when Liz is working. Got shut off for passing her a mcchicken wrapper. After 2 drinks.
