Overall, good bagels/brunch spot. This is firstly a shop to buy fish. Their sliced Nova was incredible, and easily the best I’ve had in New York on a bagel. Thinly sliced and extremely fresh. Bagel was on the better end, chewy, though have had better bagels and spread elsewhere. I also was not a fan of $1 to add one of lettuce/onion/tomato, so $3 for all, though the price was otherwise roughly on market for what I got if not higher value. Atmosphere was average, not a lot of room to move around. Service was also average. Overall, 4 stars from me for the stand out smoked salmon.

Over rated. Nothing specially. I got a cream cheese and lox . I have had better quality and not paid $20 for a regular poppy seed bagel.

I got their Chicken noodle soup, it tastes like campbell’s canned soup tbh :/. I love this place but won’t go back for the soup. services and hospitality 5⭐️ for sure tho!

Best smoked salmon and tuna salad we ever had. Bagel was thinner than normal which made perfect ratio to the fish. Employees were very nice and helpful. You can sample before deciding on what you’d like

Fish bagels are great. Service is okay – what you expect in New York.

Stopped by just to pick up a trout and all the workers were super attentive and friendly! They offered me a sample of their smoked fish spread and bagel which was delicious (probably should’ve eaten it right there and let them know how much I loved it but, had to hurry back home and wanted to take a picture of it). Definitely coming back here to get a full bagel sandwich ☺️

Sable’s is my go-to spot for smoked fish in New York. The smoked fish is always fresh, with a perfect, never-too-salty flavor. It’s truly the best I’ve ever had. Whether I’m just visiting the city for the weekend or planning a special brunch with family and friends at home, I always make sure to put in an order or stop by the Sable’s storefront. Their lobster and whitefish salads are must-haves for me and their pastrami smoked salmon is unbeatable. Also have to mention the bialys and black and whites, which are absolutely delicious every single time. Every visit feels welcoming, and the family-owned atmosphere is genuine. If you’re looking for a top-tier smoked fish store to call “your spot,” you owe it to yourself to try Sable’s.

Worst bagel I ever had. Not fresh and after asking them twice if they can toast it, I got a cold and old hard bagel, very disappointed. I do not recommend if you are looking for an Excellent NYC bagel experience. You should try your own bagels before selling this stuff.

If you are fortunate enough to live near Sable’s or want to experience a really delicious bagel with lox and cream cheese, you should plan a visit to this wonderful Eastside deli. They also sell outstanding salads and all kinds of delicious foods to nosh on.

The fish here is definitely off the hook and their well-deserved claim to fame. Just the range of smoked salmon they have is incredible. We had a salmon – I honestly forget which one – and the white fish. And that fish took me to heaven – so flavorful. What brought me back to earth were the bagels, which were a bit off and lacking the chewiness of a great NYC bagel. But at its heart, this is a smoked fish place and that’s what I’m going to focus on here. Without a doubt, the place to come to pick up some smoked fish for home. Hoping though that it was just an off day on the bagels – because with a great bagel, they have a match made in heaven.
