Lickle Jamaican Restaurant in Maywood (Fifth & Washington) is hands down one of the most unorganized, unprofessional restaurants I’ve ever stepped foot in.
At this point, I’m convinced they don’t actually cook food — they just sell hope and excuses.
This was my THIRD time giving them a chance.
First time? No chicken. No wings.
Second time? No chicken wings, no ribs, no mac and cheese, no green beans, no yams.
Why are you even open if half the menu doesn’t exist?
Third time really did it for me.
“Give us 45 minutes for mac and cheese.”
45 minutes later: “He just dropped it. Give us 25 minutes.”
30 minutes later? Nothing. No food. No apology. No urgency.
I waited 1 hour and 33 minutes for something they clearly weren’t even cooking. Spent over $115 between two people after working long hours because we didn’t feel like cooking — just to leave hungry and irritated.
And then they act confused about why someone would be upset?
Stop taking orders for food you don’t have.
Stop lying about wait times.
Stop playing with people’s money and time.
If you like wasting over an hour of your life to be told “it’s dropping right now,” this is your spot.
Three chances was generous. Never again

I am sooo disappointed in the service I experienced yesterday. I was told they didn’t have the item of food items I wanted, then I was told I need to wait 1.5 hrs for my order. After waiting, I got to the restaurant to pick up my order, and It was not ready. My total wait time in a questionable neighborhood was 3 hrs. Never again. The staff was unprofessional and they overcharged me. Do better.

Horrible service, horrible food. Don’t waste your money like I did twice. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they totally failed again. Why does it take 45 mins to get your food for it to suck. I got home and tried the yams and all I could taste was the vanilla extract. As if they poured the entire bottle in the pot. I spent $70 on jerk and curry and I ended up throwing both in the garbage. NEVER AGAIN. It was so bad I damn near refused to support my people and their establishments. HORRIBLE

I arrived at the restaurant. There was no one in line so I proceeded to go to the front windows for pick up. An employee walked by twice and did not acknowledge my presence there. I stayed quiet because I understand restaurants can get busy. I work for Uber eats part time for 2 years+. After approximately 10 minutes. I saw the employee and inquired about my pick up order. He replied, “one second” and walked away. The next time he came to the window, again I asked about an approximate wait time so I can inform my customer of the wait time. 10-15 minutes had already elapsed. He replied, “one sec”. I simply asked an approximate ETA and if he did not know to tell me so I could make the customer aware the ETA or a possible cancelation. The employee became extremely rude and gave a speech about how “I an manipulating the situation and over talking him. He told me to relax and never answered my original question. The customer service was terrible. I’ve delivered at hundreds of restaurants and the experience at Little Jamaica was by far the worst. Maybe its just one bad employee. But he was rude, accusatory, and defiant. I canceled the order and went about my business. Customer service was terrible and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Thank you. Be better and somewhat polite or at least acknowledge the customer respectfully. Thank you. Negative star.

The girl who works the cashier act like she does not want to be there.
The older BLK man at the front was kind and nice. He deserves a raise.
Food:
Sides-rice + Beans was mushy and tasted old. Like back in the day when Jamaicans 2nd cook the rice again with water, type taste. Mushy and gross.
The other side-max and cheese was over cooked way too soft and tasted like it came from a box.
The chicken was the saver. Chicken was below average but compared to the sides it was the only thing edible.
Sides were gross and mushy. Chicken was nearly average.
I did like the food came in reusable containers and not the foam plates.
Atmosphere:
You can dine in.
Final conclusion: won’t be going back.

I’ve been here many times as it’s not far from my house, but after today I may never go back. Firstly, when I went to pick up my order that I called in, I realized when I got home they gave me the wrong order! The name on the receipt wasn’t even my name. I went back and she said she would make me another one. I should have went with my first mind and got my money back. The order came out extremely fast, which initially concerned me but I was in a hurry to get back home so I didn’t think anything of it. Well it came out fast because the chicken wasn’t fully cooked! I’m disgusted. I ordered a dark chicken dinner and most of the pieces of chicken are so undercooked it’s bloody! I would call back and complain but after the attitude I got from the girl up front I just don’t even feel like it. If I get sick, this will be my reference that it was from them. I don’t like bashing black businesses, but this is unacceptable. To rush my order just to get me out the door is insane! I wouldn’t have mind waiting longer at all if that’s what’s needed for fully cooked food. Be weary when you go here. Their really hit or miss. A friend of mine told me he got food poisoning from them last summer for undercooked steak tacos. Just disgusting!

Greens and cabbage spicy but good, Jerk Chicken good but can use a little more flavor, Jerk tips were good, Yams we’re good, Oxtails we’re good not enough tho for the price, rice and beans were just ok, macaroni cheese was goooood, service was good environment was good. We will be back again to try more things

These people played in my face tonight. I ordered Dark jerk dinner with cabbage yams and Mac/cheese and an extra side order of green beans. They sent me some chicken wings yams cabbage and greens. Cabbage juice all leaking out the bag all over my counter. And what looks like the last wings they had in the store before closing that nobody wanted. NEVER AGAIN!!!! They was about to close and sent what they had left in that restaurant. They should be ashamed.

Got the dark meat jerk chicken dinner. It was good. A little dry but the vinegar sauce you get with it is good for that. Mac and cheese and cabbage were . Greens had some heat! Delicious sides. I’d go back. And all that for $13 after tax
