Lupe’s Antojitos Mexican food has been around for around 13+ years, situated in an unassuming strip mall just off of 550 on the eastern outskirts of Bernalillo, provided a delicious detour on a recent trip south. Upon entering the modest interior, the air was immediately filled with the inviting aroma of freshly cooked corn tortillas.

I ordered the chile relleno combo plate with red chile. While waiting, the waitress brought a bag of freshly fried, perfectly crispy corn tortilla chips served with a delicious green tomatillo sauce. The chips were so good, I finished the entire bag before my main course arrived.

My combo plate arrived shortly thereafter, offering a fairly large portion. The rice was well-prepared with a unique, authentic Mexican flavor. Although the beans were not fresh had a can paste consistency, they still had a decent flavor with queso blanco melted in. The standout item was the taco, featuring a perfectly golden-brown shell and meat with an original flavor rarely tasted north of Hatch, NM. While the relleno was a bit soggy, it had a unique flavor characteristic of central Mexican cuisine. Also good was the enchilada which was also very tasty, thanks to its distinct, flavorful Michoacán-style red sauce.

Overall, Lupe’s Antojitos Mexican food offers a unique and welcome diversion of flavors, strongly reminiscent of those found in the southern part of New Mexico and central Mexico. for those wanted to try something different, It is a highly recommended spot.

We stopped here on a road trip. Everything was made fresh to order and it was delicious. The salsa had a nice kick to it. Excellent customer service.

Great little local restaurant that is easy to get to off I-25. The servings are large and quickly prepared. The staff is attentive and courteous and keep on top of everything service related.

If you like fish, I would recommend the tilapia diablo plate for lunch.

This restaurant is worth checking out if you’re in the area. Do not let the amount of cars in the parking lot discourage you from coming in for a quick bite or ordering and pickup.

Excellent no frills Mexican cuisine! I had the combo plate with carne asada, 1 enchilada and 1 chile relleno. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned & cooked, the chile relleno was so delicious (especially the sauce, I could have drank it it was so good) and I chose the Enchiladas Michocanas Rojas De Queso (red enchiladas) I usually get free but the red was recommended and I’m glad I got it. Everything tasted fantastic, please patronize this restaurant!!

The food was good but the Asada steak was much thinner than expected. Really nice and prompt service. Food is fresh so it takes a while but it is worth it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast this morning. Casual comfort with exceptionally friendly staff. They sure know how to use jalapeño peppers! My husband and I had breakfast (Mexican Eggs) today (03/05/26) which is our sixth visit here. The food is delicious. If you go once, it won’t be the last time.

Best Barbocoa I’ve tried so far here in New México is really similar to the one I used to eat in Mexico City, the can take a while cause they are short staffed so please don’t come if you are to hungry, otherwise I’m happy I found this place, it is worth the wait.

First time eating here and the food was delicious. I’ll stop by here again the next time I go out to Rio Rancho. I had an order of flautas and my dad & brother had the steak fajitas.

This restaurant serves authentic Mexican food. We visited this restaurant often when they were located on Zuni & Tennessee. Always great flavor and service. It’s no different here but be aware that if they get busy it will take them awhile to serve your food. We went on a Friday around 7 p.m. and we waited about 50 minutes for our food. We waited because the food is worth the wait. So just be aware and be patient if you happen to arrive at a busy time.

Been looking for a place like this since moving to New Mexico 2 years ago. Found it on accident going to get wings. It’s next door to wing stop. Look at it and said that sounds better and IT WAS! I’ll be back again and again and tell anyone I know!
